RHODY KEISLER
A Baha'i wedding took place at
Catrip Menesetung, near Goderieh,
on Saturday, July 10th, spiritually
uniting Marilee Keisler and David
Rhody 'of Kincardine.
Marilee is: the daughter of Rev.
and Mrs. Marvin Keisler, Christian
Missionaries .in Pakistan', . and
David is the son of• Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald Rhody of Holyrood.
'service Was performed
under the authority of the Spiritual
Assembly of the Baha'is of
Goderich. A short explanation was
, given on the importance of
obtaining the consent of all living
parents of the couple to the
marriage. The importance ,of this
Baha'i law can be seen more easily
if we understand that marriage is
not merely a legalized relationship
between a man and a women,' but a
social and spiritual contract which
involves the extended families of
each partner, a contract which has
Many implications for the welfare
of the next generation.

and gold sari, and the mother of the
groom wore a floral gown in soft
peach tones. Both wore corsages of
white roses. Marriage prayers
from the Writings of the Faith were
read, followed by the Unity prayer
in English,. French and German.
SOloists. sang "Temper My Spirit 0
Lord" and the "Wedding Song".
Special piano music for .the
occasion was composed and per-
formed by the brother of the bride.
Marilee and pavid exchanged
wedding vows in accordance with
the Baha'i Marriage Law: "We will
all, verily, abide by the will of
God'7 . Although this vow is simple
and short,' the meaning is pro-
found. It affirms the fact that
marriage is not only a 'contract
between two people, but it also
involves their relationship with
God. The vow commits the bride
and groom to equality in the unity
they achieve by submitting them-
selves to God's will.
After. the service a buffet dinner
was served, followed by music and
dancing. Over 300 guests' attend-
ed. Relatives and friends attended
from Lucknow, Kincardine and
area, Montreal, province of Queb-
ec, Pakistan, California, Montana,
and other regions of Canada.
Marilee and David will spend six
weeks touring the provinces,
visiting Baha'i communities and
attending an International Teach-
ing Conferenee in' Anchorage,
Alaska. The couple will be residing
in Kincardine.
