Mrs. Marretta Hodgins, Edna and May Boyle visited in Teeswater with Mrs. Edha Whytock and with ' Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hodgins and Mr. and. Mrs. Ezra Stanley at Lucknow. A. bridal shower was held at Kitchener on Saturday evening for Miss Barbara Preiss whose wed- ding takes place in August. Mr. and Mrs., Jack Walsh and their daughter Shelley left on Tuesday on their return trip to their home in Melfort, Saskatchewan, after holidaying with /his Mother, Mrs, Gertrude Walsh and othet members of his family here: Mr. and Mrs. Dave Kimsley and son of Sarnia visited with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Haldenby and gamily on Saturday evening. Mr. Wilbert Hodgkinson of Wingham called on friends here on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Gertrude Walsh had her family ,home for Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walsh and Shelley of Melfort, Saskatchewan; .Mr. and Mrs. Frank Currie of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Miller. Hartwick and , Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hartwick, Chris and Michael of Kincardine; Mr. and Mrs. Scott Walsh, Stephen, Debbie, Sherry and John - of Bervie and in the evening Mr. and. Mrs. John McFadyen ' of Kincardine, Mrs. Marretta Hodgins returned to London on Sunday after a three weeks holiday at her lime here. DIANNE MacKAY CONTINUED' FROM PAGE 1 active member of the Purple Grove 4-H Club where she has acted in the capacity of Assistant Club Leader. During her nine years of Club work 'she has participated in 16 clubs. She has helped organize County 4-H events, assuming a leadership role there. Dianne is very much a 4-H ,member who has • proven to her leaders, and fellow club • members she is reliable, courteous and ' considerate with'a personal interest in all. In Junior Farmers •she has taken t an active interest having been local Club President. County Newsletter Editor, and County Secretary-Treasurer. Her interests -in school were evidenced by her higt standing in academic work ivhile she also was active in house league sports, the choir and Student's Council. Her, church has not been. forgotten as she was a C.b.I.T. president, a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Centennial Commit- tee for the church. At present she. is working with her father on the farm. In the fall she plans to enter the University of Guelph majoring in Family Studies. On the farm of Jim Needham, Purple Grove, four pair of twin calves were born during the first week of July. Another pair were born back in January. ' About $300. in cash was stolen from the Lucknow Branch of the Canadian Legion. Mrs. Eldon Wraith of Lucknow was appointed local representative for the DepartMent of Transport. She succeeded Mrs. H. D. Thomp- son, who had held the position for 7V2 years. KnechterMilling Limited closed their Lucknow' store after a considerable number of years of operation.
