Preparatory services were, held
Friday evening at Ashfield Presby-
terian Church in readiness for
Communion Services on Sunday
' with Rev. Richard 'Sand. conducting
the services and preaching his
farewell Sermon. Steven Wylds,
becoMing a member of the church,
and Mary Lou Barger and Brenda
Moran by transfer, have all been
received into the work of the
church.
Mrs. Rhoda MacKenzie is :o,n
trip to Eastern Canada and U.S.A.
Mr. and Mrs. 'Oliver McCharles
visited in Chatham with Mr. and

ily.

enjoying renewing acquaintances.
Its a common sight during the
summer for picnics being held' at
the old Lochalshl school grounds,
now a roadside park. SeVeral
picnics have been held on the North '
Ashfield School grounds and many
others at Ashfield Park at the lake.
Cecil Webster is spending the
summer in Ohio with his sister, her
husband and family.

Hanover Park
The 7th annual Burt Reunion and
picnic was-held Saturday, July 17 at
2.30 p4n. at the 'Hanover Pail; with
47 attending,
, Guests Were Mr., and Mrs.
Albert Burt. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Burt
and "sons from Penetanguishene;
Mrs. Mary A. (Bertie) autton and
Mrs. Margaret McNay, Lucknow;
Kathy F. Lawrie, Belleville; Colle-
en Buchanan, Toronto; Bob Small,'
Hanover, who• joined Charles Burt
of Brucelea Haven, Walkerton and
members of the immediate family,
grandchildren and great grand-
children who were present from
Toronto, Mount Forest, Holyrood,
Kincardine, London, Vittoria, Han-
over,' St. Johns, Quebec, Innerkip
and St. Thomas.
The blessing was asked by Bob
Burt.
A short meeting followed ,the
meal with president 'Mts. Keith
(Irene) Priest presiding, Mrs. Ron
(Joan) Armstrong reading minutes
of the last meeting. Mrs. Keith
(Irene) Priest was re-elected pres-
ident; Mrs. Harold (Lois) Mc-
Knight elected vice-president;
Mrs. Ron (Joan) Artnstrong elected
secretary-treasurer for the 1977
picnic.
Sports committee for next year
consists of Laurie and Lou Carig-
nan, Norm Sceli and Ken Hol-
combe; lunch committee, Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Brirt and Mr. and Mrs.

Fifty-four Grade 2 - 3 students of
the Exeter Public School visited the
Home on Friday afternoon and
presented a musical program. The
principal of the school, Jim
Chapman, introduced' the musical
director , Mrs. Joan Perrie and
pianist Mrs. Sw,ayne Lyndon. MisS
Mary Van Camp thanked the
students and teachers on behalf of
the residents.
Mrs. Luther of. Hensall led .the
Sunday evening 'song service
sponsored by the Christian Wom-
en's Club with Mr. Luther provid-
ing the piano accompaniment.
Three new residents were wel-
comed to the Home at Monday
afternoons program, Miss Murray,
Mr. Anderson Scott and Danny
Pysaniuck. Marie Flynn, Norman
Speir and Jerry Collins' provided
the old' tyme music and the Clinton
Christian Reformed .volunteers as-'
sisted with activities.
The Clinton Legion Pipe Band
entertained on "Family Night" and
all of. the residents were able to
enjoy the' music either on the front
lawn or at the windows on the west
side of the building. The band
played a special number for Walter
Kingswell who will soon be
celebrating his ninety eighth birth-
day. Mrs. Elizabeth Black
expressed the appreciation of the
residents.
The , Auburn Women's Institute
were hosts for the June birthday,
party on Wednesday afternoon.'
The twenty-four celebrant's receiv-
ed a birthday card and gift from the
Institute and Mrs.' Mollard who
celebrated her ninetieth birthday
this month thanked the ladies on
behalf of the residents. Mrs.
Eleanor Bradnock was emcee for
the afternoon and introduced the
following program: readings by
Marian 'Haggett, piano solos by
Katie Jackson, mouth organ solos
by Bob Turner and medley of
hymns by Marjorie McDougall.
