A short fierce wind storm swept."
through this community early
Friday evening whipping branches
and limbs off, trees and playing,
havoc with local hydro service.
A large poplar tree, locked to
the north of the residence of Mr.
and Mrs, Alex, Farrish on Inglis.
Street, the former Norm ' Siegrist
home, toppled tile, wind.
Luckily for the Farrish family,.
the main part of the tree fell on the
west side of the house with smaller
limbs and branches coming to rest
on the roof. One dent in the
eavetrough' was the only roof
damage with some damage to the
TV aerial and a small eireultar
clothes line behind the house.
Mr. and Mrs. Farrish were away
at the time' and the incident was
discovered when they returned
thome and noticed the branChes and
foliage outside their windows.
Hydro service was interrupted by
fallen branches and downed wires.
Oh Willoughby Street, in front of
the residence of Russell. Whitby,
flames erupted from a shorted line
an" fire balls danced from• the
plugs in nearby houses. Another
branch near the residence, of Dr.
Jack ' McKim •.ori Rose Street,
caused additional hydro problems
with the' line down. • .
' Hydro service was restored by
village workmen and Wingham
P.U.C, service' truck.
