Several from this area attended
the community bridal shower held
for Miss Carol Ann Shackleton,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benion
Shackleton, in the Dungannon
United Church basement on Wed-
nesday evening, July 7. Mrs. Tina
Liigtenburg was chairlady and
introduced the following numbers:
Mrs. Mary Clare played the piano
and led in a comMunity sing song;
readings were done by Miss "Mary
Luanne Clare; piano selections
played by Irene Logtenburg; -Fran-
ces Logtenburg sang a solo and
accompanied herself on the guitar.
' As Irene Logtenbuig played
"Here Comes. the Bride" Carol was
ushered to the decorated' bridal •
chair by her 'sister Miss Valerie'
Shackleton and neighbour Miss
Mary Winterhute. Frantes" Logten-
burg read the address. to the bride
and gifts were carried in. ,

VanRooy who graduated from St.
Joseph's Hospital School of Nurs-
ing, London on Saturday, July 10.
Ceremonies were held at the St .',
Joseph's Hospital Nurses Resid-
ence. Guest speakers were the
Dean of Fanshawe and Director of
Nursing Miss Pat O'Dwyer. Caps
and Pins were presented by Miss
O'Dwyer. Mary's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John VanRooy were guests at
the graduation ceremonies, which
were followed by a smorgasbord
buffet and social hour.
Mrs. Nora Sinnett and Mrs.
Grace Austin visited in Toronto
during • the paste week with Mrs.
Rita Bryan and visited with Tom
Bryan, a patient the Toronto
East General Hospital. They also
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Courtney. •

Shawn Dalton, son of Mrs. Mark
Dalton' and the late Mr. Dalton,
returned to his home here on
Saturday, July 10 by motorcycle
after spending the past '5 weeks
working in Edson, Alberta.

married on Saturday, July 10.

the' open reception for Greg Blake
and Wilma Hackett who 'were
married on Saturday; July 10. The
reception was held 'at the Brookside
'School with music' for, •dancing
supplied by the Moran Brothers.

Mr. and Mrs. Clem Steffler and
family ,left on Monday, July 12 to
make their new home in Whitelaw',
Alberta. Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Riegling and sons Craig and Todd
went with the Steffler's and
assisted in moving the truck loaded
with fuyniture and personal belong-
ings of the Steffler family.

the annual "Summer Fling" spon-
sored by the Lucknow Agricultural
Society and held at 'the' 'Lucknow
arena on Friday, July 9. . Music for
dancing was enjoyed by Walter
Ostanek's Band.

Messrs. Theo. VanRooy and. Wim.
Donkers of Holland, who have been
visiting with the VanRooy and
VanDyke families during the past
2% weeks, returned to their homes
in •Holland on Tuesday, July ,13.
Several from this area. went by
bus to a Pilgrimage to St. Mary's
Shrine on • Tuesday, July 13.
Pick-ups were made at St. Augus-
tine at 9.15 a.m. and 'at Kings-
bridge at :9.35 and returned back,
home at approximately 5 p.m.

Council Minutes
Kinloss Council met on July 15th
at 7.30 p.m. Leonard Clarke Was
not present. After -the meeting was
opened and minutes read, the

Severance was approved on the
south '/z-lots 67 and 68, concession 1

C'Ouncil 'asked that the Land
Division committee defter the
decision on severance on part lot
10, plan 2.25, Albert'. Cohltes and
part lot 11, plan 225, Arthur
Burrows until further information
is obtained. •
A donation was madeto the Girl
Guide and Brownie groups in the
amount of $25.00 each.
The tender of Glen Dunlop, was
accepted for the 1970 Chew '/2 ton
truck at $700.00. The clerk was
asked to get price quotations on the
Gaunt Municipal Drain', repair and
clean out.
The following accounts were
ordered paid, .General, $4963.97;.
Bruce County Board of Education,
V2 1976' levy, $46,867.95; High-
ways, $21,132.41,
The meeting adjourned until July
19th at 7.30 or. at the call of the
