Waterloo Park supervised by Mr..

around 65 attenders from the
surrounding localities.. Those from

• Barrie, Sudbury and Chatham.

George Lubbers on the arrival of
their baby daughter, Karen Mich-

BRIDAL SHOWER
On Friday evening a shower was ,
held at the home of Mrs. England
for bride-to-be Miss Diane Ingram
of Vancouver. Around thirty
guests gathered to honour her.
Interesting games were played
after which Wendy England and
Mrs. Humphrey assisted Diane to
open her many gifts of sheets,
.Pillow cases, silverware, towels,
tablecloths, dishes, , blankets, salt
and 'peppers, sets of kitchen tools
and other gifts. Diane thanked the
sponsors of the shower, all for
coming and for their beautiful gifts.
Her mother, Mrs: Ingram, is here
for the *edding on July 16.
Nancy. England is staying with
her sister Wendy England and
working with her at Campbell Soup
at Listowel.

At a Ladies Doubles Tournament
at Goderich on. Wedrlesday, July
7th, a local rink of. Isabel' Miller
and Maudie Fisher won their three
games • winning , the • "Gerrard
Trophy" and first prize.
On Monday evening, July 5th, a
mixed pairs tournament was held
on the. Lucknow greens with
'winners as follows: first prize, Jack
and Audrey MacDonald; second
prize, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Tomkins,
Rockway Bowling Club, Kitchener;
third prize, Alex Hackett and Isabel
Miller; fourth prize, Alex McNay
and Tillie Wilson.
The Lawn Bowling Club are very

ed a strong Port Elgin squad by
defeating them 7 - 5. Elliott
Courtney pitched the entire game
with Eric McLeod behind the plate.
Key hits' by Al Hunter, Jack
MacDonald, Eric McLeod and
Larry' Irwin paved the way for the
Ripley squad.
LOSE TO MOUNT FOREST
On Sunday, July • 4, the Ripley
team lost 'a close game to' Mount
Forest 7 - 5. Floyd Stanley • and
Ellicott Courtney shared the pitch-
ing duties with Eric McLeod catch-
ing. Highlights, of the game
included a key single by Barry
MacDdnald, a home run by Floyd.
Stanley and some great fielding by
Al Rhody. The ball park was
packed for this game. Both
management and players apprec-
iate the great fan support received.
LOSE 1 - 0
On July 9, Ripley travelled to
Walkerton and played a strong
defensive game as they allowed a
Strong Walkerton team only one
run. Elliott Courtney hurled the
entire game with Blair Armstrong
catching.
DEFEAT MILDMAY.
The Ripley Intermediates used .3
pitchers to defeat Mildmay 7 - 6 on
Sunday, July 11. After spotting the
visitors' 5 runs, the local boys
bounced 'back to' gain the. lead. Del
Stanley, Floyd Stanley and' Elliott
ielirtney shared the pitching with
`Eric gcLeod catching and contrib-
uting 3 key hits. • Bob O'Donohue
drove in the winning runs while
Jack MatDonrild, Al Hunter and
John Fludder had key hits during
the game. Scoop Hunter 'also
played a great defensive gathe at

Thedescendants of Edward and
Emma Stanley held their annual
family' reunion at Ashfield Park on'
July 3rd and enjoyed an afternoon
of recreation, good food and
visitation.
The original member's of. the
family in attendance were Sam,
Peggy, Ezra, Everett, Maretta and
Leonard.
The activities commenced with a,,
Pot luck ' lunch at noon , and
progressed to the game activities
Which included tug of war (married
men vs singles - won by the
married men); nail pounding
contest won by John and Joyce
Farrell; water balloon contest won
by Floyd and Lynne Stanley;
hoola-hoOp contest won by Nancy
Greenwood; shoe race won by
Rosalind Hodgins. •
Other events included races for
the children, a softball game and a
soccer *game.
Mike and Bonnie O'Dell (Ever-
ett's daughter) and family won the
prize for travelling the longest
distance to attend the reunion as
they motored from Cape Coral,
Florida.
Oldest person in attendance at
the reunion was Sam Stanley. '
The organizing committee did a'
-tremendous-- job- of -organizing -the-
day and June and Earl Elliott
invited everYone back to their place
the following day for lunch and
further visitation.

Bannerman Picnic
The family and grandchildren of
the late Mr. ' and Mrs. George .Bannerman 'Kinloss, held their
family picnic in the Community
Centre; Kinloss.
The program, was very capably
chaired by our president Mrs.
Betty Elliott. ,
The program was opened With an
instrumental by Shelly Hackett,
followed• by a reading by Mrs.
Mary Campbell. David Bannerman
favoured with selections on his
guitar. Jack VVhytock.also render-
ed several violin selections. Mrs. •
Jim Carr had an interesting
contest. The minutes of the last
meeting were read.
Community singing included old
favourite songs and' hymns.
A minute silence was observed in
memory of those relatives who
passed 'away since the last picnic.
The races which were under the
direction of Mrs. Lois Hackett and
Mrs. Denise Bannerman were
enjoyed by all. , A smorgasbord
Supper followed.
The officers fcir next year's picnic
are as follows: Mrs. Betty Elliott,
president; Mrs. Millie Stanley,
secretary; Mrs. Ivy Wfiytoek,
treasurer. The picnic islo be held
again next year in -the Community
Centre, Kinloss, the second Sun-
day of July. • All enjoyed the
fellowship and had a good visit
together.
Those attending were from
Kincardine, Ripley, Bervie, Kin-
- loss ;---Wingham;--Whitechurch;
Bluevale and Teeswater.
