Now in it's• fourth consecutive year:. the Experience Program is designed once again to offer jobs that will allow studentS to put their education, enthusiasm and resources to productive use. The Ministry of Natural Resourc- „es is again the largest single , . employer, offering more than 2,500 jobs in the field of natural, resource management and, development.. • About 1,200 of these job opportun- ities are available through the Province's 38 Conservation Author- ities. Program 130 (formerly S,VV.E.' E.P.) at the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority will include 33 local students working at various. environmental enhancement pro- jects within the Maitland water- shed. The format of this year's • • • • • • • • • so • • • • • • • • • • program at M-.V.C.A. has been changed somewhat front the past, in that the summer staff will be working directly under the super- vision of the regular Authority field staff. Work •projects for 7 crews' (located at the Falls Reserve C.A., Wawanosh Valley 'C.A., Galbraith C.A., and Brussels C.A.) will thus be assigned• and co-ordinated by the Authority Superintendent, Gra- ham Jackson. The senior supervisor's position for this year has been filled by Rob Keip Formosa. In addition to conducting the Authority's regular Information and Education pro- gram, Rob 'will be responsible for co-ordinating the' administrative •aspects of the, summer .program. Blake Ferguson of Gorrie will act as this year's senior technician. A 25 year wildlife ,management plan for the Wavvanosh • Valley C.A., vegetative inventories and drain- age • mapping for the watershed are some of the projects in which Blake will be involved. Ann. Dalton of Goderich will be applying knowledge gained through . her four years in the geography program at Wilfred , Laurier University, as she complet- es infra 7 red mapping and analysis, updating of map information . from 1975 air photographs, and design- ing a revised watershed Map. John Elliott of Brussels, the third Program' Technician, will be involv- ed with historical studies 'of the Brussels and Gorrie design plans for interior renovations of the Authority display unit, and 'assist- ing with the Program's information and municipal work projects. The clerical work for the Program will be done by Mary-Lou Mazer, a third year student of Resources • Management at the University of GueTph. The 1976 program is structured so that technical and • supervisory jobs are for a period of 14,weeks, 14 post-secondary subforemen and labourers will work for '13' weeks, and 14 secondary school students will be employed for 7 weeks. He has been a patient, -in •the Wipghain 'and Districk Hospital for the past two weeks. . Rev. Andrew Lane of GOderiCh and lifs daughter Mrs. Ross Culley of Toronto, who are holidaying at Bruce Beach, visited on Saturday at • the Lane and Maulden homes here. Mr. and Mrs. George I3ushell, DaVid and Janet of Ottawa visited. during the week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edbert Bushell. Other visitors at the same home were Mrs. Katherine Fraser, Anne, Edwin and Janice of Armow. Mrs. Malcolm Lane, who is a patient in University Hospital, London, suffered a Paralytic seiz- ure and niembers of her family visited with her over the weekend. We wish her• improved health. STANLEY'S GATHER in attendance at the . Stanley family re-union were 158. Sam Stanley of the Brookhaven Nursing flame, Wingham was the oldest man present.. Then . on. Sunday, 75 relatives gathered at the home of Mr.. and Mrs. Earl Elliott and Ian, concession 10, •for . another family get together. Mrs. John McFarlan (Belle Stanley) of Kincardine was the oldest guest. • Weekend. visitors with. Mrs. Marretta Hodgins were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins and family of Niagara, Mrs. Peggy Elliott, Detroit, Leon'iid Stanley and his 4 grandchildren, Dawn, Shelley, Chris and Carry of Lansing, Michigan and. Miss Florence Fero. Dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Art Graham on. Monday were Richard Elliott, Mrs. Dorothy Thompson and Edna' and May Boyle. Mrs. Bert Nicholson and her sister, Mrs. Glen Campbell of Kincardine went to Brampton on Monday where 'Eva had further medical attention. The regional safety and operations training session occu- pied most of these people for their first Week .of employment. ,Post-secondary school labourers presently on the job include Wendy Mortimer and Shirley McLaughlin. of Listowel, Beth Chowen and Janette Ginn .,of Clinton, Judy, Harkness of Marathon, Barb Elliott of Brussels, and Anne Welwood of Wingham. To date, the work crews have been planting trees, cutting grass, ,conducting clean-up of conservation areas and came-sites, preparing the new Falls Reserve campground for seeding, and clearing brush. In addition to theSe and other Authority projects; the summer staff will also be involved in various work projects for the Authority's member municipalities.
