Film Presentation • At South Kmioss
An interesting evening was
enjoyed by a large gathering in
South Kinloss Presbyterian Church
on Monday, June 14th.
Mr. Jack Needham was -chair-
man and after a hymn and the
Lord's Prayer; Mrs. Ira Dickie
introduced Mr. and Mrs. Graham
MacDonald of London who had
spent last summer doing volunteer
educational work in the Br. Virgin
Islands. Graham worked on school
curriculum and Freda held work-
shops to train teachers. They
-found the people very friendly and
most grateful. Compared to our
Canadian schools they have so few
supplies.
Graham has already collected
shipments of school supplies,
books donated• from a library etc..
and sent • them to the Virgin
Islands. If anyone in the area
would , like to contribute• supplies,
.used lead pencils, or magazines
such as Readers Digest, Popular
Mechanics, Popular Science or
National Geographicsjdated since
1969) they could be left at the home
of Graham'S parents, Mr. and Mrs.
W. F. MacDonald in Lucknow.
The slides were very informative
and the commentary most interest:
ing. The South Kinloss Young
People contributed an anthem
halfway through the program.
Evan Keith thanked the MacDon-
alds and spoke, briefly on a trip he
and Margaret had just had to
528-3420
texas.
A• generous offering Was given to
the MacDonalds who sent it the
following day to the Chief Educa-
tion Officer in the Virgin Islands to
be spent for educational materials
where she deemed adyisable.
Mrs: Philip Steer closed the
meeting- with prayer after which
lunch was served and a pleasant
time of fellowship enjoyed.
