Show In Clinton
Huron County Black and White
Show was held at Clinton Spring
Fair on June 5th. 72 head were
shown by 21 exhibitors of which 7
were new competitors. John H.
Gillespie of Cambridge-Galt, Ont-
ario was ,the official judge for the
day.
Hol-Den. Farm of Clinton, Ontar-
io was named the show's premier
breeder. Mr. Vodden owner,
showed the 1st prize dry, cow,.
4-year-old in milk and 2nd prize

had a Florahills Emperor Lucky son
place -1st in the bull calf class.
Harry and Ed Franken of Auburn
owned the 1st placing 2-Year-old
dry heifer:

He received this recognition after
having the 1st prize aged cow; 2nd
placing 4-year-old and senior

sired by Elmcroft Pontiac Chieftain
(Excellent and Superior Type) 'was
made grand champion female.
Valley Creek Chieftain Stella' as
well as the 1st placing junior
yearling ' are ' owned by • new
exhibitor, Kennairn Farm of •Blyth,
Ontario. Stella placed ahead of the
2nd prize 3-year-old and eventual
reserve grand champion female

Grub Day or Greaser Day, which-
ever the various students wished to
call it. We could wear either
clothei from the 50s or our old
clothes' that we usually' wear at
home. Many comical costumes
were worn.

GRADE '8 TRIP
yhe grade 8 class went to
Niagara Falls on Wednesday, June
16. We left at 6 o'clock a.m. Our
first stop Was the Welland Canal
and the Thorold Locks. We then
had' a ton. of Fort George at
Niagara-on-the-Lake. We visited
Brocks Monument at Queenston.
We ate Our lunch in the park there.
Our next stop was the Table Rock
Scenic Tunnel. This is where we
dressed in raincoats and rubber
boots and weft under the falls. We
saw the outdoor aptd indoor shoWs
at Marineland. For our last stop
before we headed home we went to
the , top of the Skylon Tower. °On
our way home we stopped in
Guelph for supper. We arrived
back in, Ripley shortly after 9 p.m.
Everyone enjoyed our trip even
though it rained for much of the
day,
