Sister M. St. Leonard, Rev. W.' J.
Phelan and Monsignor from the
Phelan family.

were Sister M. St. Leonard, Mrs.
Wm. Lane of London, sisters of
Monsignor; Rev. E. 'Dentinger,
master of ceremonies; Rev: Mon-
signor A. P. Mahoney P.A.; Rev.
C. S. Quinlan, Rev. P. Fuerth,
Brother Carl Voll, and Rev. Mr. M.
Sample.- They all gave Monsignor
greetings. Monsignor's brother,
Rev. W. 'J. Phelan, due to illness,
was unable to attend. He has been
ordained for forty eight years. We
would be remiss if we did not
mention the' fact that Sister St.
Leonard, -on June 5th, celebrated
her .50th anniversary in the C. S. J.
and extend our congratulations to
her.

25th Anniversary
WHITECFIURCH NEWS.
On Saturday evening. Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Jarnieson's family held a
25th wedding celebration party for
their parents at Wingham Legion..
• A large crowd was in attendanceto
wish them many more years of
happiness and health.
Mr. and. Mrs. Bill Evans visited
on Sunday with their son,' Eric
Evans, Mrs. Evans and family of
Hyde Park.
Miss Barbara Ann Purdon of
Kitchener spent the weekend with •
•- her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Purdon.
Mr., and Mrs: Robert Mowbray
accompanied Miss Mary, Lou
Milligan to Sarnia'where they spent '
the ,weekend with Mr. and Nrs.
Refison Falconer and family and
other relatives.

CAR ACCIDENT
This community was sorry to
learn on Saturday of Dave MacDon-
ald's car accident on Friday
evening, which necessitated his
removal to St. Joseph Hospital,
London.' His many friends here are
pulling for his 'speedy recovery.
'On. Wednesday quite a- number
him here and some from Wingham
went on the Whitechurch W.I.
Hanover bus tour, which included
Vineland, Marine. City and Niagara'
Falls.
The village of Whitechurch was a
quiet place Saturday evening as the
Rintoul relatives and friends were
attending the .Gary Rintoul -
Barbara Corey wedding at, Ontario
Street United Church, Clinton and
reception at Canadian Legion and
the Ross and Wilkens relatives arid
friends were attending the Douglas
'Ross - Kay Wilkens wedding and
reception at Listowel.
Mr. Wand Mrs. Floyd nott, of
Fergus spent the weekend with 'her
mother, Mrs. Robert Purdon,
Lucknaw and Visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Curran as he 'has just
returned from Wingham Hospital
and• with Mr., and Mr's. Gordon
Rintoul and family.
Lucknow Farmer
Died At Age 51.

The conitnunity was saddened to
learn of the sudden death of
ArnoldWilliam ,Button, a Lucknow
farmer, on Tue§day, June 1st at' the
age of 51.. His death occurred at his
farm home, just west of Lucknow,
following a heart attack,
Bill, as he was familiarly known,
was born at Wingham on Novem-
ber 14, 1924, a son of 'Robert and
Mary Button.
On Deceinber • 14, " 1946 he
married Lorna Hunter of Ashfield
Township and they have farmed at
Lucknow since that time.
The late Mr. Button is survived
by his 'wife Lorna, one daughter
Marion of Kitchener and two sons
Bob of Calgary and Murray at
h9me; two grandchildren Kerry
Button and David •,_Button; his
mother Mrs. .R. J. Button of
Lucknow; one sister and three
brothers, Mrs. Alex (Margaret)
MacNay of Lucknow, Harold of
Dutidas, Jack of Lucknow and Russ
of Lticknow.
He' was predeceased by his
father in-1956 and a brother Ernest
in 1973.
The ftinefal service was field on
Friday, June 4th at' MacKenzie
Memorial Chapel, Lucknovv. Rev.
Doug. Kaufman of Lucknow United
Church, of which the deceased was
a member, was minister..
Pallbearers were Ain GibSon,
Ross. Henderson, Murray Hender-
son, Bob Lyons, Bob Aitchison,
Mike Creswicke.
Interment was in Greenhill
Cemetery.

London. Both are natives of
Leamington and Mary and Dianne
Van Rooy of Kingsbridge.
