Silver
Mrs. WEL Stanley was hostess
for the Silver Lake Women's
Institute meeting. Mrs. Nancy
Greenwood of Purple Grove was
the speaker with' slides on a most
interesting two years that 'she and
her husband spent in South ,East
Asia,, New Zealand and Australia.
The conveners for the meeting
were Mrs, ,Ray Stanley and Mrs.
John Hodgins. Mrs. Hodgins
presented Mrs. Greenwood with a
gift from the society. Roll 'call was
"If I had 'to leave Canada what
country would I go and why". Mrs.
Hodgins gave a quizz on World
Affairs.
An invitation was read from
Ripley. W.I. to a tea June 8.
Leaders were asked for the fall
project for 4-H "Clothes for
Leisure". August 24 is the
branches day to entertain and show
crafts at the Log House, Bruce'
County Museum. Standing com-

On Monday, June 14, Grades
Kindergarten to 6 at St. Joseph's
School, Kingsbridge, went for ' a
bus trip:to London. Kindergarten
to Grades 3 visited , Story Book
Gardens while Grades 4 to 6 visited
Bendix Homes in Hensall,: Mount
St. Joseph, St. Peter's Seminary
and St. Peter's , Cathedral in
London. Buses left at 9 a.m. from
the school. Kindergarten to .
Grades 3 returned back at 5 p.m.
while the Grades 4 to 6 returned at
7 p.m.

R. Rhodes, the Minister of Housing, signed
an' amendment. to Qntario Regulation
NO. 349/74, .a commercial order which affects,
your municipality.
Although the commercial order Intends only to
prohibit haphazard development of shopping
centres in your municipality, small-scale corn-
. mercial , uset \ serving, local needs are also
prohibited under the order:
Ontario Regulation No. 333/76 which amends
,the original' order, permits the erection or use
of a building with a floor area of less 'than
5,000 square feet for commercial purposes .
Other changes in siting requirements have *
also been included.
For detailed information on Ontario Regula
tion No. 333/76, please contact your Munici-
pal clerk.
Where, a proposed commercial use exceeds
the provisions of the order, the Minister' of
Housing may amend the order pursuant to
Section 32 (6) Of The Planning Act after as-
sessing indiVidual applications and in accor-
dance with sound planning principles.
