"Faith for The Future" was the theme of the gathering. The roll call was answered, by the district .dir- Mors with "A historical event in Bruce County' that has 'given us faith for the future," whieh Proved to be most interesting as each one answered with some- thing of note. Many reviewed events almost forgotten and only two items were duOlications. Reed's Corners WI was in charge of the sing-alongs for the .day.. Mrs. McGuire of White- church gave the address of wel- • come and Mrs. Donald. McCosh and Mrs. Frances Boyle of Purple Grove had charge of the devotions which were ap- propriate to the theme. FWIO REPORT Mrs. Frances Gemmell, FWIO board director, gave her report, thanking the district for the Lapel Pin in Bruce County Tartan, which has been sent for the national convention in Prince Ed- ward Island in June...She stated that the resolution sent in last year ,on the liquor question was turned down. The ACWW will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1977 and in Winnipeg in 1980. Used stamps are being collected for - Africa, where they are being put to good use. She urged branches to support Nutrition Education and the Erland Lee Home. May 31' 'to June 4 is WI week and the . time to visit the Erland Lee home by appointment. Mrs. Gemmell' also spoke on the meeting ' held recently in Wingham on violence in the media and said that complaints on this subject should be sent to the FWIO board member; giving name ,and date the program appeared. • As this is Mrs. Gemmell's last year in office, she thanked all for their help and friendship during her term as a board member. She also took charge of the ratifica- tion of the district directors. VISITORS PRESENT Mrs. David Ireland, president, introduced the visitors: Mrs. Sut- cliffe, area president; Mrs. Crawford, area secretary; Mrs. Chambers, .board of directors, sub-division '16 of the area; Mrs. Radbourn; area curator; "Mrs. Coyne, rally chairman; Mrs. Klages and 'Mrs. Smith, Bruce North; Mrs. Smith and three guests from Bruce Centre; Mrs. Miski and Mrs. Ostendorf, Bruce East. Mrs. Harvey Houston, pro- vincial public relations officer, addressed the meeting, briefly, asking that members, share their copies of Home and Country With doctors' offices, beauty Parlors, etc. Back issues are also needed. Mrs. Vidor Emerson gave a greeting for which she has be- come well known. Mrs. John Nor- man, resolutions convener, presented .a resolution on com- pulsory use of seat belts. After some discussion the delegates voted in favor of 'the existing law. At the mortiing session Armow WI provided entertainment.
