LEAVING 'THE OLD SCHOOL for the last time, February 1,1 1966, ' SCHOOL REUNION CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1 baked beans, etc. Following Saturday evening Mass, a dance, was enjoyed by the graduates and present school stnclents in the • school gymnasium with music for dancing -provided—by Disc. Jockey Brian Elmslie from CKNX. A MaSs for' the graduates was celebrated on Sunday, May 23 by pastor Reverend Father Ed Den= finger, C.R. Folk singing with aceonipaniment on the guitar by.; Miss Marie Boyle was provided by former graduates. A special • quartette was sung 'by -'Marie and • Anne Boyle and Mary acrd Berna- ' dine VanRooy. Following Mass, coffee and donuts were served to an overflowing crowd. At. 2.30 in the afternoon, a two hour program was held in the school gymnasium' with Mr. Clem Steffler, principal, -master of cere- monies. • The opening chorus was by Grades S and 6 students of the • school with piano 'accompaniment by music instructor Mrs. Lillian Simpson. • • ReVerend Father Carauana of. Parkhill, and Parish Priest at Kingsbridge at the time of the building of the new school, spoke on the History of St. Joseph's School, Kingsbridge and expressed' his deep appreciation for the help given him during his four year pastorate in Kingsbridge. Arthur Haid, chairman • of the C.R.C.S.S. Board brought congrat- ulations to the community' on the very special occasion of the 10th . anniversary of St. ,Joseph's School, Kingsbridge. Quote: "School and school systems can produce math- ematicians, 'scientists and scholars, but if they, don't produce people who are concerned for one another - if they don't produce people who live lives according to Christian principles, then they have accom- plished very little. Letter's of regret for being 'unable 'to attend the reunion were received from Mr. Buldger,„ former • school inspector, Mrs. Barbara (Winter) Moerbeck, the first principal , of the school, and - Father Henry Cassano. The first graduation class of 1966 , were asked to stand: they were Joseph Austin, Ronald Boel, Gary Court- ney, Denise Dalton, Marlene Drennan, Francis Hogan and Nolda Miltenburg. • . Mr. and Mrs. Carman Nixon and children of London and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nixon of Winghain were• recent visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs, Isaac Nixon, Belfast. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard 'MacDon- ald, Lucknow, returned home last week from a two-week holiday with their son Jim at Cloverdale, British Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Broome and Eric of Seaforth spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reg Broome of Ashfield. School Yell", with all graduates taking part. included orienteering, tin foil dinners and the survival game. On May 25, 26 and 27th we are going to Wiarton to the outdoor Education Centre. We had an auction at school to raise'money for it. We all brought in things we didn't want any more. We raised $50.35. With this money, • Mr. • O'Donohue is going to buy the hotdogs and the hotdog buns, cold meats, and told drinks. We have to bring the rest of the food.
