Arthritis Special
This Weekend'
Dr. Duncan Gordon, Chief Rheu-
matologst; McMaster University
Medical'' School, Will headline the
panel on the, "`Arthritis Special"
that will take place over CKNX-TV,
Channel. 8, Saturday, May' 29th,
between the hours of 7.0Q and
11.00 p:m.. Dr. Gordon will be
referring to a special project being
conducted at Western pniversity
'Medical School b3; two prominent
uma_lologists, Drs. Harth and
Stiller. All funds pledged to the
"Arthritis Special" will be used in.,
this on-going project which will be
discussed in greater detail by Dr.
Gordon during the TV "Special"..
This is the fourth annual TV
"Special" promoted by The Arthri-
tis Society volunteers within, the
viewing audience of, CKNX and it
should be noted that time, as Well'
as help' aid staff, is donated.
Entertainment is provided by
vol'unteers throughout the entire
viewing area and from Lucknow
and District, soloist Steven Pritch-
ard will pe part of the four hour
entertainment ,program.
For the past few years,' 'The
Arthritis. Society has been emphas-
izing the fact that arthritis is a
disease which can Strike any age.
In attempting to inform the public
that arthritis can and does often
even affect children, the Society
may have played down the fact that
rheumatoid arthritis first attacks
most, its victims in the 20 - 40 age
bracket. It robs ,.many of the most
productive and enjoyable years of
their lives.
