. A single car accident on the 2nd '
concession of Kinloss Township
claimed the lives of three area
young people.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert McNall,
.kucknow,. observed their 55th
wedding anniversary.
A severe wind and sleet storm hit
this area in early May and resulted
in several trees coming down with
hydro interruptions in various
areaS. •
William McCreath was appoint-
ed as the new clerk of the Village of
Ripley, succeeding Walter Need-
Floyd Stanley, principal of the
Ripley-Huron Central Public

absence to enter into a contract
with the Department of National
Defence as a teacher in Europe.

Richard Baker, Holyrood distriCt
farmer; suffered a fractured leg
when kicked by a horse. He lay for
some time in his lanevvay before
being discovered by Gordon Jam-
es.
Scouting was revived in the
village • with R. A. Joselyn as
leader. Keith -Kilpatrick, Jimmy
MacMillan and Morley Chin were
named as acting patrol leaders.
P. W. Hoag, 'a member of the
High School teaching staff for two
years, was named principal; suc-
ceeding. Miss Frances E. MacLean,
who was retiring. Miss ,MacLean
had taught at Lucknow for 37 years.

, MAY 1926
22 years previously, May 24,
1904, the first automobile made its
appearance on Luicknow's main
street.
Lucknow's population was 1035,
a gain of 132 over the 1921 census.
Hornell-Murdoch advertised the
opening of a new store with a stock
valued at 510,000.
Jim Mitchell, son of Mr. and
-Mrs. Moorehouse Mitchell of
Lucknow, was the successful tend-
erer for the paving to be done' on
Lucknow's main street.
Ambitious men will do their
best whether watched or: not.

evening callers on Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Mowbray. ,
Mr. and Mrs. HarrY Moss of
Plattsyille spent the weekend with
her mother Mrs. Ben McClenaghan
and Mr. and Mrs. ' Carl McClen-
aghan. . On the Monday Mrs.
McClenaghan returned to Platts-
vile with Mr. and Mrs. Moss.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Irwin
McClenaghan of St. Thomas visited
with his mother Mrs. Ben McClen-
aghan and Mr. and Mrs. Carl
McClenaghan. :

Jack Gillespie,. Sarnia and Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne • Farrier, Kimberley .

Reports are that J.. M. sniith of
Whitechurch has sold hii property
to -Mr. and Mrs. Tom Day of
Langside. •
Mr. and Mrs. Bev Kay and
Graham on the way to 'Toronto at
Brampton picked up Mts. Kay's
mother and all attended at Massey
Hall the' Vancouver Symphony
,Orchestra program. , . .
On Tuesday Bruce South District
annual 'was held at Chain-tees
Presbyterian Church with the
dinner being served in White-
church Community Memorial Hall.
Wednesday evening the officers
of Whitechurch W.I. met at the
home of Mrs. Elgin Johnston to
prepare the topic cards for 1976:77.
Jason Conley of Wingham, a
weekend visitor with Mr. and Mrs.
Wallace. Conn, returned home with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doug
Conley, on 'Sunday.
We are pleased to report that
Mrs. Alex Craig .returned home on
Monday last from Wingham and
District Hospital.
, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laidlavv of
Windsor spent the holiday with his
parents Mr. and Mrs. Elroy,
Laidlawl and her .parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Elliott.

We recently learned that Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Falconer are living at
Tiverton, where he is employed at
Douglas Point. Joe is a son of the
late John Falconer of Kitchener:
His mother is now, residing with
them.
Mrs. George Fisher,' Mrs. Gor-
don Wall and Mrs. Vietor Enierson
accompanied the Home Economist,
Miss Barbara De Visser, to
-' Parkhead to attend Bruce North
District W.I. annual.
'Mrs. E. Bolt, Mrs. Annie Irwin,
Kenneth Purvis and Mr. Jordan of
Mitchell were Sunday visitors with
Miss Annie Kennedy. Mr. Purvis
and Mr. Jordan also visited with
Jim Currah at Wingham Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson,
Darlene, Sharon and Brenda spent
the holiday weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Victor Emerson..

Milligan attended the Young
Peoples Camp at Kintail.

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Milligan
spent 'the weekend camping.
Rickey Hand of Palmerston was a
Saturday visitor with his uncle,
Emerson Hickey, and cousins,

The size of the beginner swimming classes is limited to
10 per instructor per period of time. So come early, to get the
time 'of your choice.
The Junior, Intermediate, and Senior. classes are not res-
tricted.
