pondence was read which was
thank you notes from sick and
bereaved families in the area.
Signs of Life 53rd weekend
renewal 'at Huron College, London,
June 4 to 6 was announced. The
roll call was "A Mother of the bible
and why I admire her". Plans were
made for a luncheon folloWing the
parish service here on Sunday,
May 30th. at 11 o'clock.
The conveners for the progra,m
were Mrs. Midford Wall and Mrs.
David Haldenby. Mrs. Wall
presided and took as her topic "To
be a woman", basing her remarks
on 'the life of Naomi. Mrs. Ray
Collins gave the home life of Mary
and Martha. .
Readings were given by Mrs.
St.Peters A.C.W.
. Miss Ruth Thompson took
charge of devotions for the May
meeting of St. -peter's Anglican
Church Women. Bible readings
were from Psalm 34, Collossians 31
and St. Luke 24.'
Ruth , Thompson gave a very
interesting talk under the heading
"Roads". She mentioned the
many types of roads we see as we
travel. The roads of Biblical times
and the very _necessary ritual of
Washing feet. The eyes of the
disciples Were opened as they
broke bread with Jesus. So our
eyes will be opened if we
prayerfully ask God for ,guidance.
WS. Harold Cooper presided for
the business. 'Several banquets area
coming up in the next few -weeks.
Mrs. Harvey Mole and Mrs. Tom
Phillips reported on the A.C.W.
annual meeting In London.
Mrs. Cooper closed the meeting
with prayer and lunch and a social
time followed.

the Catholic Women's 'Leagues of
Kingsbridge 'and St. Augustine.
Miss Nancy Anderson provided
special music for the pupils of

the theme on "Untended "Gard-

"Mothers Love''' followed with
hymn. 15 "For the beauty of the
earth". Mrs. E. Robinson led in
prayer followed with a reSponsive
• reading. Mrs. W. Jefferson gave 'a
poem "The Housewife and God".
Mrs. S. Chamney read the
scripture taken from chapter 3 of
Colossians, verses 20-21.. Mrs. E.
Robinson gave the meditation on
"Untended Gardens". Mrs. Otto
Weber read a poem "Fundament-
als". Everyone took part in the
"Family Beatitudes" followed with
a prayer .by Mrs. Wm. Hardy.,
Hymn 376 "blest be the tie that
binds" was sung.' '
Mrs. E. Robinson - took as • her,
topic "The Hudson Family from
Brazil", . taken from Mission . Pro-
file: They are missionaries who
train ,.lay people and opened a
medical clinic to take care of the
people. They also built' a chapel.
A discussion followed:
The Offering Was taken and Mrs.
Robinson gave the prayer of
dedication. This was followed with
a reading "The Meanest Mother in
the World" by 'Mrs. H. Jefferson.
The business was `taken over 'by,
Mrs. H. Jefferson. The ladies are
invited to. Brick on Jime 1st at 8.15
p.m. *Miss Lavorine Ballagh is the
guest speaker.
Hymn, "Lord speak to me" was
sung. Mrs: Robinson closed, the
meeting with prayer. Mrs. Ray
Hanna and 'Mrs. S. Chamney
assisted the hostess serve, lunch.
Miss Elva Kearney thanked the
ladies for the gift she received.
The May crowning will take
place at the 10.30 mass, Sunday,'
May, 30th.'. Mrs. Hickey, president
of the C.W.L., thanked the ladies
for their help in cleaning the church
hall, She announced the LucknOw,
Kingsbridge and St. Augustine
C.W.L. ladies will join in' a Aoint
June meeting-and plant sale in St..
Augustine hall.
Father Dentinger spoke. of the
need of prayer, especially , family
prayer, during the month of May.,
Mrs. Franken moved that the
Meeting be adjourned.

for their, May meeting.
Mrs. Ray Leddy, president;
opened the meeting: with the
League Prayers said in unison.
Due to other committments, , Fr.
Dentinger was unable to attend. .
Mrs. ,Peter MacDonald, secret-
ary, read the minutes and other
correspondence.. Decisions were
made regardingprizes 'for the draw,
in August.
During the meeting Mrs.' Joe
MacMillan presented Mrs. Wm.
Hogan with a League Pin for her
'fifty-two years of. faithful years to
the League.
Ladies were reminded that a bale
is going to be sent from. Kings-
bridge this month.' Anyone having
good used clothing make sure they
are down there hi time.
The group is invited to St..'
Augustine for the combined June
meeting at which time they-lyill
hear reports of the Windsor
convention,' and a 'sale of flowers
and plants will be held.

Pageant To
Church Group
Lucknow United Church Women
met' in the Fellowship Room on
Tuesday evening, May 11 at 7.30.
The president, Mrs. Jack Treleav-
en, welcomed the ladies in
attendance. The C.G.I.T.; under
the leadership of Mrs. Gordon
Cayley, presented a pageant "This
Is Your Life Daughter". Scenes
.were depicted from early childhood
to grandmother years with read-
ings and music.The C.G.I;T. also
conducted the worship service with
the theme "What Is The Modern
Mother" with reference to biblical
mothers.
The'business part of the meeting
followed with secretaries and
treasurer reports. The various"
conveners and Unit leaderS reports
were given. •
The offering. was received and
dedicated by Mrs. Leonard Ritchie,
Mrs. Clarence Ritchie and Miss
Elizabeth Ritchie.
The meeting closed with bene-
diction.

The Kinlough 'Anglican Church
Women.met on Thursday afternoon
at the home Of Mrs. Roy' Collins
• with an attendance of 16 members
and 8 children. The president,
Miss May.Boyle, was in charge and
opened with a poem and prayer and
all joined in singing the hymn "Lo
Gad is here". Mrs. Allan Rhody
read the scripture from the 12th
chapter of Hebrews, verses 5 to 13.
Prayers followed with. Mrs. Howard
Thompson leading in • the Prayer
Partners prayer.
• A well prepared meditation on
"Mother" was given. by Mrs. Eric'
Thacker as mother was the theme
of the Meeting; Mrs.' Art Haldenby
and Mrs. Delbert Hedley gave the
litany fromAhe Living Message.
Mrs. Ronald Thicker read the
report., of the assistance that the
OjoCese of Huron had, given to
Guatemala and also the articles
that are needed for the bales.
Thanks was expressed to those who
provided program and transporta-
tion to the Thankoffering meetings
which. were held in April at
Lucknow and Kinlough. The
Deanery meeting will 'be held. in

courtesy remarks after which
everyone enjoyed a delicious smor-
gasbord supper. The June •meeting
will be held at the home of Mrs.
AgneS Hodgins and will be an
evening meeting.
