The cOnference for three days and approxi- mately 600 delegates attended., Jim Curran' was a patient in the IntensiVe Care Unit of the Wing- ham and District Hospital. Get well wishes are sent' from the community, Doriglas Shaw has also been a patient at the Wingham. Baptisnials bled Recently At St. Helens Area Pinecrest Manor . MRS. THOMAS H. HACKEXT . ST. HELENS NEWS Mrs. Thomas H. Hackett, the former Catherine Irene , Irwin, passed away on April 29th, 1976 at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Lucknow, in 'her 77th year. She was a daughter of Thomas Irwin and Cynthia Cornelius. She was born in Ashfield Township on August 7th i 1899., On September 10th, 1919, she married Thomas H. Hackett and lived most of her life on the 12th concession of Ashfield Township. She is survived by her husband, now a resident of pinecrest Manor; one daughter (Irlina), Mrs. Mid ford Wall of Culross. Township) three sons, Keith of Islington, Eric of Ithron Township, Doug of Ashfield Township. Thirteen grandchildren and one great.grand- child also survive and one sister, Miss Elleda Irwin, Toronto arid brothers Alvin Irwin and Leonard Irwin of Lucknow. She was • predeceased' by .two brothers,' Claire Irwin and Emmer- son Irwin. Service was held on Saturday, May 1st at MacKeniie Memorial Chapel, 'Lucknow. Rev. Albert Cook of Trinity United Church officiated. Pallbearers were Harvey Ritchie, Bill Hunter, Allan Ritchie, Elwood Irwin, Bob Irwin, Allan Gibson. Five grandchildren Brian,. Craig, Ian and Tim Hackett and Don Wall, acted as flower bearers. Final resting place was Greenhill Cemetery. Mrs. Earl McDonald of Gough, Street, Lucknow`, passed away .at VVingham and District Hospital on Thursday, April 29th in her 75th year. Herdeath followed 'a lengthy On September 7th, 1921 .she married David Earl McDonald 'of Ashfield. They farmed in Ashfield until moving to Luckn'ow in March 1970 where, they beught the former MacKay home 'on Gough Street. The late Mrs. McDonald is survived by her husband Earl, three daughters, Mrs. Vincent (Well) Austin of Ashfield,' Mrs. Harvey (Velma) Hagedorn of 'Ear Falls, Northern Ontario, Mrs. Bayne (Marion) MacLennan Of • Ashfield; five sons, Lorne of Ashfield, Willis of Toronto, Allan of. Ashfield, Neil of Goderich, Gordon Hof Saltford; twenty-eight grandchildren, eight great grand • - children; also two sisters and two brothers, Mrs.' Lina Stewart of London, Mrs. Elton (Clara) Draper of Port Albert, Harris Willis of Culross Township and Verne• Willis of Goderich. • She was predeceased by one granddaughter in 1974. • The funeral service was held at MacKenzie Memorial Chapel, Lucknow on Sunday, May 2nd. Rev. Glenn Noble was minister. Six grandsons acted 'as pallbear- ers, Kevin' Austin, •Alex MacLen- nan; Jack MacDonald, Eddie MacDonald, Donald MacLennan, Barry Austin. Flower bearers were grandchild- ' ren, Jane MacDonald, Karen MacLennan, Marlovv Austin, Tom McDonald, Stephen MacDonald, Bonnie MacDonald and a great grandson, Shawn Durnin. Interment was in Greenhill Cemetery. , • The late Mrs. McDonald was a member of the LuCknow Presbyter- ian Church and the Presbyterian W.M.S., the Lucknow Women's Institute and the Lucknow Town and Country Club.
