The Ripley and District Horticul-
tural 'Society met on Tuesday
evening; April 20, at- the home of
Mrs: Wray Osborne, north of
Ripley. The president, Mrs. Glen

Stanley, chaired the meeting and
correspondence was dealt with by
the'secretary, Mrs. Charles Srnith.
Discussions were held and arrange-
ments made regarding the •District
Annual meeting held in Seaforth on
April 24th, Sand the., upcoming
Provincial Convention to be held in
`Waterloo in June.
The program convener, Mrs.
Donald Campbell, covered a trip to
Scotland she and her husband
made in January and February.

HACKETT - CAMPBELL
Ridge Communitythurch, Blen-
heim; with lighted candelabra and
yellow potted mums at the altar,
was the setting for'the marriage on
Friday, March 26th at. 4.30 p.m. of
Hazel Jean Campbell of Chatham
and Joseph Lorne Hackett of R. R.
3 Lucknow. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen M.
Campbell of R. R. 4 Blenheim and
the groom is a son of Clifford
Hackett of Goderich and the, late
Mrs. Hackett.
Rev. Gordon Johnson of Blen-
heim officiated at the. double ring
ceremony. Given in marriage by
her parents, the bride chose a full
length wedding gown of silk
organza, over taffeta. The empire
waist and cuffs of the long full
sleeves were daintily trimmed with
tiny lace, appliques. Back interest
centred on the built-in train of
ruffles and appliques. Her
cathedral length veil of pure silk
illusion with matching lace trim,
was, attached to a floral' cluster
accented with crystal trim. She
carried a Springtime bouquet of
white miniature carnations and
white sweetheart roses, accented
with green starflowers suspended
on a deep green velvet "Handle".
Matron of honour was Mis. John
.(Glenda) Clarke of R. R. 2
Blenheim, sister' of the' bride. She
was dressed in a full length gown of
green and white check polyester
knit with empire bodice featuring
white collar and cuffs. .She wore a
England, up through . Scotland as
far north as Kinloss on the Moray
Firth, across to Inverness, down
the side, of Loch Ness, over to the
Kyle of Lochalsh and on the ferry to
the Isle of Skye to their intended
destination, Uig. Here in Uig. Mrs.
Campbell met an enthusiastic
gardener, George Reay, who kindly
spoke on a' tape to the ladies of the
Ripley Society. George is a
member of the Hortictiltural Soc-
iety of the Isle of Skye.
Accompanied 'by his wife, Avis, on
the piano, George sang 'on tape two
Scottish songs, Westering Home
and Isle of Mull.
Mrs. Bette MacLeod extended
courtesy remarks to the hostess,
Mrs. Wray "Osborne, and to the
program convener, Mrs. Donald
Campbell, after which lunch was
enjoyed by all.
The Ripley & District Horticul-
tural Society will be holding their
Spring Flower Shiny - on Friday,
May 21st, in the Legion Hall,
Ripley.

Windsor, friend of the bride, was
pianist. Soloist was- Gordon
Campbell of R. R. 4 Blenheim,
'cousin of the bride, who sang '
"Hawaiian Wedding Song" and
"We'ye Just Begun".
'A reception followed at St.
Mary's Hall, Blenheim.
The bride's mother wore a full
length gown of pale pink floral
chiffon with white, accessories and
corsage of deep pink' miniature,
carnations:
The groom's step-mother chose, 'a
full-length gown of rose polyester
with corsage of pale pink and deep
pink miniature carnations.
For travelling the bride chose a
brown plaid pant suit, with dark
brown accessories and corsage of
Sonia roses accented with brown.
Following a wedding trip 'to
Niagara Falls the couple are
residing on the groom's farm ,at R.
R. '3 Lucknow. The bride was
'formerly employed as mortgage
administrator 'with Canada Trust-
Huron • & Erie in Chatham.
