The Lucknow School, which had
been redecorated and remodelled
into a. "practically new building",
was opened to the public for
inspection. Many former students
visited the remodelled school and
could scarcely 'recognize the old
building. Doors, windows; floors
and ceilings, were all changed and
the outer walls treated with a coat
of stucco. Playrooms, cloak, rooms
and teacher's rooms, were added
with modern blackboards, seats
and desks, installed. J. G.
Anderson was chairman of the
school board.

Whitectiutch Spring water meet-
ing was held Wednesday evening,
April 21 in Whitechurch Commun-
ity Memorial Hall.
The meeting opened with ' the
president 'Bill Evans presiding.
The minutes were read by the
secretary Mrs. Evelyn Gibb:. It was
learned that very seldom an
unsatisfactory water report comes
back of those sent each month, The
report 'from the department was'
read•and discussed. The treasurer
Mrs. Bill Gibson gave her report
showing assets $4823.77.
Bill Evans is to try and secure'the
loan of a pump .to ' pump the
reservoir clear of water and put in a
fresh supply' for fire protection.
The mowing of the grass at the
pump house site was taken care of.
The, election of officers was left as
they were for the previous year,

Dorothy then opened' her gifts
and thanked everyone. Cake and
ice cream were served for lunch.

weekend guest at his grandpar-

MacDonald. ' Trevor's parents are
visiting in the United States.
Jim Hunt spent a few days with
his, grandparents, Mr.._ and Mrs.
Allan Cranston.' Mr. and Mrs.
Hunt of Owen Sound also visited on

FISHING. OPENS
Although the weather wasn't the
best this weekend, it did not"
discourage the local anglers on the,
first day of fishing season. The
only report of "big catehes" was
Hugh Todd. He caught four
rainbows and two speckled trout, in
spite of the rain and snow.
