Holyrood Champs
In Town St Country
Hockey League
Holyrood are champions of 'the
Lucknow Town and Country hockey
league. The four team grouping of
Ashfield, Lucktiow, Holyrood and
Kintail have wound up a successful
year's hockey activity. ' •
The final playoff game was last
Thursday when Holyrood , defeated
Kintail 6-3 to win the best-of-five
series, three games to one.
Holyrood are the trophy winners
for this year.

Dungannon
Linda Stanley was, top bowler for
the ladies with a high single of 256
and a high triple of 646. Other
scores over 225 were. Mary Nelson
255, 227,' Merle Rhody 234, Diane
Park 232 and Linda Stanley . 227.
Gerry Ross was high man with a
high single of 261 and a high triple
of 693. Other men over 250 were

Juveniles.•
In the third game played
Wednesday, April 7', with the
series tied, at one game each,
management noticed irregularities
in personnel on Arthur's game
report. When Arthur management
was approached with 'questions in
regards, they gave some unprint-
able answerg.
This prompted an investigation
the following morning and an
official protest . was entered by
Lucknow.
Lucknow was to return to Arthur
for the fourth game, of the series
Thursday night, but- was informed
by the W.O.A.A. not to go until
results of •a special meeting.
Friday morning W.O.A.A. in-

Thursday night the Holyrood
Butchers defeated the Kintail
Flyers 6-3 to win the best 'of five
series 3 games to 1, thus winning
the Lucknow Recreation Hockey
League Championship. '
Scoring for Holyrood were Al
Rhody 2, Gert de Jong 2; 'Barry .
Johnston 1, Ken Houston 1.
The Butchers outclassed ,their
opponents displaying. superior
prowess in the finesse and physical
aspects of hockey. A happy bunch
of Holyrood boys lugged the trophy
home and enjoyed again the
experience of sipping the bubbly
from the cup. . •
Congratulations to all merribers
of the• Holyrood Butchers who can
accept defeat, but "Wow, they
wear' victory so well".

Most Valuable
Flea Player
On Saturday night, the, Lucknow
Fleas held their final game for they,
season against the parents.
At the end of the game, a trophy
for the most valuable player in the
Flea team was presented to Todd
Ritchie. The trophy was donated
by Bob Gibbons of Goderich, in
memory of 'Joe MacIntyre, and
presented by the late Mr. Macln-
tyre's daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Collins
of Kintail.
This trophy is given for the most
valuable Flea player in his last
year.. The most valuable player
was picked by a group of five team
parents.

Lucknow .Fteas played 36 games
during the season. , Todd Scharlach
played goal all season and Danny
Gilchrist played part of the year in
goal.
