R. 4 Kincardine, nephew of the 'groom, wa$ ringbearer. • Brian Pollock of Ripley,,friend, of the groom, was groomsman. Ushers were John probks, broth- er of the bride, of R. R. i `Shallow Lake and Roy Davis, friend of the groom, of R. R.. 1 Kincardine. DOUPE St. Andrew's United Church, ipley, decorated with candelabra, bonze and yellow mums and white ows on the. guest pews, was the etting for the marriage of Susan mily Brooks of Ripley and t.e'derick Alexander Doupe 'of acardine on Saturday, February ' 4th at 7 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. 4arjorie Brooks of Ripley and the rate Stewart Brooks. The groom is, ie son of Mrs. Norval Stanley of R; 3 Ripley and the late Wan kupe. , Rev. Carl Carnochan officiated at , ie double ring ceremony. Mrs. Bob Harris was organist.. Given ,in . marriage by her uncle im Brooks' of Ripley and her tother, the bride wore .an empire- BROOKS -Photo by Snyder • style gown of jersey with. a V-cut in the bodice, a choker-like neckline and self train. A Juliet cap held her shoulder-length veil and she car- ried a bouquet of red roses. Matron of honour was the bride's sister, Mrs. Ben Beishuizen of R. R. 4 Ripley. She wore a jacket ensemble, consisting of a mint green polyester crepe gown with an empire waist and A-line skirt and a short jacket of . emerald -green velvet with hood and tying at the front. She carried a basket of bronze rosés and yellovi cat-tails. Bridesmaids were Mrs-.- Art Helm, sister of the groom, of R. R. 1 Tiverton and Mrs: Gilbert Farrell, friend of the bride, of R. R. 2 Ripley. Flower girl was Miss Angela The groom wore a Windsor-style tuxedo with, a white dinner jacket, black ruffled R.S..V.P. shirt, black bow tie and, trousers:. His attendants were attired similar to the groom with black dinner jackets and green ruffles on their R.S.V.P. shirts. A reception followed, in the Ripley-Huron Complex auditorium with music by the Blue, Moon. Master 'of ceremonies was Jim W. ' Brooks, brother of the bride, of R. R. 4 Ripley. The bride's mother chose a romance blue street-length jacket dress ensemble. The sleeves and collar of the jacket were trimmed with maribou and she wore a corsage of yellow sweetheart,roses. The groom's mother wore .a candy-pink gown with gathered bodice, high neckline and maribou cuffs. • Her corsage was white feathered carnations and pink sweetheart roses. For travelling the bride chose a powder-blue polyester pant suit, Her corsage was yellow. roses.' Following a wedding trip' to. Freeport, Bahamas, the couple are residing in Kincardine. - The groom is employed at Doupe's Equipment. Ltd., R. R. 4' Kincardine. Guests attended the wedding from Brantford, Wiarton, PaiSley, Shallow Lake, Shelbourne, South- ampton, Toronto, and the sur- rounding area. 80th BIRTHDAY CONTINUED FROM' PAGE 1 with a pink floral arrangement, candelabra with pink candles and a birthday cake in pink and blue. The cake was made and decorated by a cousin, Mrs. Leonard MacIn- nes. Pouring tea were Mrs. Jessie Alibi, Mrs. Graham Pinkney and Mrs. Allan Graham. Serving were granddaughters and great niece's. Receiving guests with Mrs. MacIntyre were her 'son • Donald and his wife;\ a granddaughter, Mrs. Rosalea Lovell and a niece, Mrs. Ted Collyer. A short' program consisted 'of a- solo by Frank MacKenzie, a duet by Mrs. Philip Steer and - Mrs. Donald Bell and a solo by Mrs. Bell. Mrs. Donalda Scott, provided the accompaniment • and music throughout the afternoon. Greet- ings and reminiscences were expressed by Sandy Nicholson and Mrs. Ted Collyer. Mrs, MacIntyre was the recip- ient of many lovely cards, flowers and gifts.over a hundred friends and relative's called during the afternoon, bringing back memories of how much. Annie has done for many. Relatives and friends were present from Hamilton, Ajax, Toronto, Strathroy, St. Thomas, Goderich, Kincardine and Wing- ham. Participate In Variety Night One of the highlights of the Variety Night "held in St. Mary's School auditorium, Goderich on April 2 was the Junior Farmers Square Dance group of Ashfield with' their caller Glenn Patterson of . Goderich. The Variety Night was .sponsored by Goderich and District • Pro Life Group. ' • , Those taking part were Donna Hackett, Riena '• Reurink, Dixie Cameron, Don Ritchie,. Bill Mole, Brock Hasty and Jim Ritchie.' -The group danced two changes. Other acts in the Variety show' were singing,, violin and piano selections, 'barbershop quartette, magic show, a humorous skit and family singing groups.
