FUN NIGHT
Last Thursday eyening was a
"Fun Night" at the local arena.
The seven o'clock game featured
the Tyke team versus the Tyke
moms.
Due to rescheduling, sicknesS
and "cold feet" the 21 members of
,the Moms team had dwindled to 14
"all-stars" plus 1 "import" by
game time. The spunky, but
inexperienced Moms managed, by
stumbling,' falling over .each other
and missing the puck, 'to be
soundly defeated by the more '
experienced and skilled skating of
the 6, 1 and 8 yeat-olds. Tie only
scoring by the Moms was by a
picturesque, well-dressed "Gerta
Mudslinger" (nee Farrell).
Lacking finesse but providing
much laughter aS well as unrehear-
sed chaos, the team deserves an
ovation fortheir good "sportslady-
ship".
The Moms team' was composed
of Joan . Wood, Ruby Walden,
Margaret Campbell, Judy Hawryl-
yshyn, Janette Thompson, Ann
Boyd, Barbara Gamble, Dianne
Gamble, , Diane , Brooks, Glenna
Farrell, Sheila Cuyler, Ursula-Life,
Amelia German and Ann Collins:
John Dahmer was the brave coach,
with Aria Dahmer as nurse,
Theltha Godfrey, assistant coach
and Ruth Farrell stick-girl.
A special thanks, to Joan Wood
whO made a trophy for the winning
team, the Tykes.. This is now on
display in the trophy case.
This week brings to a close a very
successful hockey , season for the
Tyke'S. •Much thanks to' Murray
Thompson and John Wood, the

have'cheered the team on. , Hope to

The second game proved to be
more of a hockey game with the
Pee Wee team playing the Pee Wee

(in year's), against them, the
"younger boys" had to resort to
innovations to hold the "older
boys". davvn. The teams proved to
