concerned the osage orange and its
search for an identity "in this area.
Harvey Wightman of Waterloo,
who spends weekendi at the family
home in Lucicnow, showed. us a'
piece •of wood., from the Osage
Orange Tree which he picked up. in
Niagara Falls a few years ago.
Harvey is parks planner with the
city of Waterloo and has been
employed there for 17 years. The
orange tree wood has a. colour,
almost as yellow as a lemon, when
first cut.

Ashfield Township Council met
on March 2 with all members
present.
A resolution was passed, "That
the Township of Ashfield 'agrees '
that, the' Cyunty of Huron pass a
by-law to Provide that the County
of Huron apportionment be paid in
two equal instalments; June 30th
and. December 15th, commencing
in 1976.Th •
the Road Superintendent was
instructed to call tenders for the
.1976 gravel contract.
Applications for severance were
approved for Mrs.: Jessie Kirkland,.
°James O'Neil, Mrs. Kruspe, .Mrs.
Ethel Meyer and Tim Hunter.
Tile Drain, Loan applications
were , approved for Donald Scott,
$20,600 and Phillip McCann,

required for widening on the
Dungannon bridge approaches.
Allan Gibson was appointed to
represent Ashfield on the Lucknow
and DiStrict Fire committee.
