Died At Brucelea
. MRS. ELLIOTT JOHNSTON
Mrs. Elliott Johnston, the former
Isabel Myrtle Morgan, passed
away, in Brucelea Haven, Walker-
ton, on March 14th in her 82nd
year.
She was the daughter of Joseph
Morgan Sr. and Sarah Jane
Needham and was born on the 9th
concession' of Huron Township.
She attended public, school ,. at
Purple- Grove. • /
After moving to Ripley 'with her
parents she attended Ripley High
School and later Stratford Teach-.
ers' College. Mrs. Johnston taught
school at Bluevale, S.,S.• No. 6
Huron and S.S. No. 8 Maple .Leaf.
. In 1924 • she married Elliott
Johnston, who predeceased her on
April 25,1972. They farmed on the
8th •concession, Huron Township
until his death. Mrs. Johnston
moved to Brucelea Haven January
15, 1975, where she remained until
her death.
She was a devoted and loving
mother and grandmother and
interested' in ' all friends and,
neighbours. 'She was a member of
St. Andrew's United Church,
Ripley. ' • •
The late Mrs. Johnston • is
survived by one son Morgan and
three grandchildren, Jackie, Stev-
en and Julia, all of Huron Ridge,
Kincardine.
The. uneral service was conclud-
ed on March 17th at the, MacLen-
nan-kIcereath Funeral Home, Rip-
ley by Rev. Cecil Carnochan.
Burial took place at, Ripley Cemet-
ery. • -
Pallbearers were Jack Scott,
Doug • Campbell, Harold ElliOtt,
Donald Pollard, Mervyn Culbert,
Walter Forste!. ° .
Flower• bearers were nephews
Bob Johnston and Vernon Itodgins.
Irish Program At
.Town and Country
Lucknow Town and Country Club
held their Irish Night in the Legion
Hall on March 16. •
Mrs. Ted Rice played.some. Irish
music while the members arrived.
President-P. A. Murray opened the
meeting with the Theme Song.
Mrs. Pete MacDonald took over for
the program.
Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Anna
Johnstone led in an Irish sing song.
Harry Lavisv played some Irish
numbers on his mouth -organ.
Kenny Irwin, grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. Al Irwin, gave his speech
on "My Trip to Florida" which won
him 1st place at the Legion
Speaking contest./ Walter Dexter
sang some Irish 'numbers. P. A:
Murray told, an Irish joke.
A reading was given by Mrs.
Gertie Leddy. Mrs. Evelyn Cook
played. some Irish numbers on-the
piano. Mrs. P. A. Murray gave 'an
Irish reading. Mrs. Pete MacDon-
ald closed this part' of the program
and •thanked everyone who took
part in the program.
An invitation was read 13y Mr.
Murray 'for the club to visit Ripley
Club on April 9.
The remainder of the evening
was enjoyed playing cards with 14
tables and lunch was served later.
A very enjoyable evening was
enjoyed by all. '

tion Authority, the largest tract of
