returns to Langton on Wednesday
evening and the final game will. be

girls visited with Mr. and Mrs.

Mrs. Jean Petracek and daugh-
ters Rox Anne and Roberta of
Gerald, Saskatchewan, are visiting
this week with Mac Armstrong and
Mrs. Dr.. Alma Conn Armstrong of
Cuirass. On Monday all visited
with Mrs. Wallace Conn.
On Saturday. afternoon Lucknow
Pee Wee hockey- team played • an
exhibition game in Goderich with a
score 8-0 in favour of Goderich.
Cindy Moore visited on Friday
and Saturday with her school chum
Tracy McDonagh.
Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Carl% McClenaghan and Ben
McClenaghan were Mr. and Mrs.
Lorne Howes of Teeswater and Mr.
and Mrs.• Sandy Fair.

attended a Horse Show in. Toronto.
. Mrs. Bev Kay went on Friday-,
frotn - her work at Goderich to
Toronto where a graduation ban-
quet was being held' for the 3rd
year graduating class. She would
join her husband, Bev Kay a
Second year student, to attend the
service. •
Last week the men of the church
put new tile ceilings on the living
room • and dining room at the
manse. The ladies painted all the
woodwork and papered both
rooms. They are to be congratula-
ted on the 'amount of work they •
accomplished. ,

spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Conley and Jason of
Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Angus Mowbray,
home from Florida, were Saturday
callers on Mr. and Mrs. Robert

The 'Commission will examine 'the changing
human rights needs 'of Ontario residents and
make recommendations to the Government of:
Ontario designed to:
1. strengthen the Human Rights Code; •
2. improve the structure and effectiveness
:of the Human Rights Commission;
3. encOurage responsive, effeCtive
Community and educational programs
in the field of human rights..
Briefs and comments are invited from individu-
als, .groups,. and prganizations and should be
sent to the' Commission no later than May 15,
1976.
The Commission will also conduct a number
of putgic hearingS throughout the proVince.

Churches- Meet
For World Day
Of Prayer
On Friday, March S, a large
erOwd attended the World's Day of
'Prayer services in Lucknow United
.Church,,under The directiOn, of the
ladies of Trinity United Church,
Ashfield. '
Mrs. Chester. Haekett,•president
of Trinity U.C.W. spoke a few
words of welcome to the ladies,, of
all the different churches in the
community, concluding by saying.
that this was indeed an Ecumenical
happening., She then called on
— Mrs. Tom odd, St. Helens, to lead
in the Call 'to Prayer. Mrs. Jack
MacDonald, "assisted by Mrs.
Noble Johnston, Lucknow Presby-
terian Church, further led in
prayer. The hymn, "For the
healing of the nations" was then
sung.
A skit was presented from
LucknOw United Church, "The
Reality of Poverty", yvith 'Mrs.
Glen Walden, Mrs. Bert Alton and
Mrs. Vernon Hunter taking part.
All joined'sin singing one verse of
"There's a world out there". From'
St. Peter's. Anglican Church, Mrs.
George Garr raft and Mrs. John
Warren led in prayer for the,
poverty 'in the world. Hymn 301,
.
Master let me walk with Thee,
followed.
South Kinloss Presbyterian
Church, presented another short
skit, "The Reality of Relation-
ships", with Mrs. Leonard Clark
and. Mrs. Ira Dicide taking part.
Mrs. Peter MacDonald and Mrs,
Betty O'Donnell, St. Mary's Rom-
an Catholic Church, prayed for us
all to live and work together in
unison.
The skit "The Reality of Repres-
Eon" was presented by the
Christian Reformed Church, Mrs.
Bob Damsma, Mrs. A. Lennips and
Mrs. Louis' Jurjens partkipating.

bridge led in prayer for. all who are,
suffering in the world to-day.
Mrs4iiiiHunter, Trinity United
Church,: introduced the speaker,
Mrs. Chas. Wilkins of Trinity
Church. Her topic centred around
Education, and was an 'inspiration
An all. Mrs. Bill Andrew from
Trinity, then read the scripture
from Amos. All joined in singing
again There's a world out there".
The closing hymn was a solo, by
Miss Marianne Frayne, kings-
bridge, "Thank You Lord". Mrs.
Chester Hackett 'then led the
prayer "Go forth into the world".
Mrs,. Hackett thanked all .who
had taken part or helped in any
way, and closed the meeting with
the prayer, "Send us forth, Lord
with hope and vision, and hear our
prayer for peace". '

Congratulations to Mr.' and Mrs.
John Farrell (Joyce Elliott) on the
birth of ,a daughter on Sunday,
March 7. '
Mr. and Mrs. Don Robertson and
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Gawky visited
recently with Miss Margaret Rob-
ertson in Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Collins
flew "to Calgary last week to visit
their son Carl and daughter Eileen.
Cart was injured recently in an oil
rig accident near Fort St. John,
B.C.. and is reported to be
improving since. being flown into
Calgary for treatment of multiple
fractures of one leg and ankle.
'Sympathy of the community 'is
extended to the family of the late
Allan Maclntyre of Lucknow who
passed away, in Wingham Hospital
last week after' a lengthy illness.
' and 'Mrs, Wes Brooks of
Ripley,, Mr. and Mrs. Don Forster
of Purple Grave and-Mr. and. Mrs.
Bill nuemiller .of. Kincardine all
visited with Mr.' ,and Mrs. Bob
Thompson' last weekend.
The , regular ,meeting of the
Purple Grove Women's Institute
took place at the home of Mrs,
Isobelle Stanley on March 3. Mrs.
'David Elphick was guest speaker
on the subject of flower arranging.
Theme, for the meeting Was St.
Patrick's Day and Mrs. Irene Boyle
won the prize for having the best
Irish costume.
Mrs. Mae Dore and Vicki visited
with Constable Jim. Dore • in
Wingham Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Boyle,
Kevin and Kerry attended College
,Royale Open House in Guelph on.
Saturday. Their eldest son Brian is
a student there. Corrine Boyle
attended a performance of the Ike
Capades in London on Saturday
and Heather Boyle viewed the
C.W.O.S.S.A. basketball playoffs
in Shelbourne in which Ripley
placed . second.
Orland Richards of Lucknow and.
John Webb of Calgary, Alberta,
visited On Tuesday with Mr. and
Mrs. ,Don Robertson.
Don Thompson, Dick McCosh,
Mac McInnes and Wayne , Elliott
returned on Sunday from a three
'week trip to Lel Pas, Manitoba,.
Calgary, Edmonton and • New
Orleans, Louisianna, where they
took in the Mardis Gras and
pre-lent celebrations.
MIDGETS, WIN ONE, LOSE ONE
The Ripley Midgets, of 'whom
Cecil Sutton is ;'a coach, travelled to
Langton on Saturday for a game in
the 0:M-H.A. quarter finals.
