London, where she underwent,
surgery on Thursday for a gall .
condition. The community wishes
her a speedy -recovery.

Evening Auxiliary

. •The Evening Auxiliary of the
Lucknow Presbyterian Church held
their monthly meeting in the
church., on February 17 with the
president, Mrs. Kenneth Laidlaw
in charge. Mrs. Laidlaw gave the
call, to worship and hymn 50, "I'll
of Salvation take 'the cup" was
sung. •
The roll call was answered by
each lady donating a tea, towel to
the kitchen. The. correspondence
was read. An invitation from. the
Wingham • ladies , to 'attend their
Thankoffering on' April, 20 was
read: The members were. asked to •
donate $1' per member to the'
Yokahoriaa Nursery Project in
Korea. This was approved. Plans
were .,made for the Presbyterial,
which is to be held in the church on
May 31st.
Hymn 409, "There's a wideness
in God'S mercy" was sung. The
scripture and meditation were
given by Mrs. Leonard MacDonald.
Mrs. Edward BroWn • sang a solo
accompanied 'by Mrs. Donalda
Scott at the piano.
The topic, '`Forwardin Mission"
was presented by: Mrs. Ronald
Forster with Mrs. Ralph Cameron,
Mrs. Frank Hawthorne and Miss
Maudie Fisher taking' part.
A report from the Glad Tidings
was given by Mrs. Wm. Ross.
Hymn 510 was, sung. Mrs. Laidlaw
cloSed the meeting with prayer.
Lunch. was served by Mrs. Frank
Hawthorne and Mrs. Virden Mow-
bray.

HOlyrood Women's Institute "Citi7
zenship and World ' Affairs" was
held at the home of Mrs. Jack Scott
on Monday afternoon. Mrs.
William MacPherson presided and
all joined in the Institute Ode and
the. Mary Stewart C011ect.

March hostess. The program Con-
veners were Mrs. Gerald .Rhody
and Mrs. Frank Maulden. All
joined in singing the •Women',s
Institute Carol. . •
Mrs. Gerald Rhody took the topic
on New Zealand and MrS. Frank
Maulden conducted a contest on
Pictures of Interest. Miss Edna
Boyle favoured with a piano solo.
Current events were "A news-
paper clipping of interest On World
Affairs". Mrs.. William MacPher-
son .gave an interesting.demcinstra-
tion of glasS painting. She was
thanked and presented with a gift.
Mrs. Alex Percy gave the courtesy
remarks and the' meeting , closed
with 0 Canada `and the. Grace.
Mrs. Frank Maulden conducted a
contest before •lundh and tasty.
