Many people need to use
• But when someone is ihjured or killed by '
a crime of violence which is an offence
against the Crimihal Cbde of Canada, your
Ontario Government may award compen-
sation to the, victim, a person reSponsible
for supporting the victim, or the depen-
dants of the victim,
Among the crimes for which compensa-
tion may be awarded are giurder, wound-
ing, assault and rape. And victims do not .
need' to be the persons against wherri the:
Crirrie was originally directed: People killed -
or injUred while preventing or, attempting to
prevent a.crime against another person, _
arresting or attempting to arrest someone'
• committing such a crime, orassisting:a
law-enforcement officer May also receive
compensation.
Com,pe'nsatiOn may be awarded for:" .

injury, •
• monetary loss incurred because of the .
victim's inability to work, /
• monetary loss incurred by dep,endants as
a result of the victim's death.
Compensation nay also. be awarded for
other resultS of violent crime.
Applications for coMpensation must be
made within one year of the injury or death,

Present" and "Sports and the
School's". • We, each wrote 5

Club News
Plans are underway for the
Lucknow Skating . Club'. Achieve-
ment Night to'be held March 13:
The children started practising this
week.
Tbe boys hi the club will wear
dark trousers; white tops and
green vests and the girls will wear
white tops, light coloured leotards
or nylons 'and green skirt's. The
green skirts and vests are prOvided
for the children as. the. „mothers
made these a few years ago to ,be
worn every 'year. Senior members
will wear their, skating outfits.
A test for, the Seniors is to be
held February 29 at Brussels. The'
Seniors are practising hard for this,
also for competitions which are to
be held, at Howick, Community
Centre on March 7.
The Senior members :may 'wear
their skating outfits.
The sponsor sheets are out for
the skate-a-thou and by all reports
there seems to be lots of
enthnsiasm.,
