He was born on March 29, 1884, in Ashfield. TownShip: 'a sou Of Joseph Hackett' and Eliza Jane Mr. ack. eft "farmed in Ashfield Township until 1946 when he moved to Winghain where he tarried on the Allis Chalmers businessior 15 years. He retired to LuCknow in 1961. Mr. Hackett, while in• Ashfield, served as councillor and later as reeve of the Township. He was twice married. In September 5, 1906. -he married Janet Hunter. She' passed. away March 2, 1970. On July 29, 1971 he married Clara Downey, who passed away on October .11, 1975. Mr. Hackett was also predeceased by one 'daughter Mrs. Pharis (Maizie) Mathers on November 24,,1973 and four sisters Mrs., George (Jennie) HuriteK, Mrs. Bert (Amelia) Tre- leaN', Mr's.
