death of her husband at their
• Kincardine home in his 83rd year.:
' The funeral was on Friday after-
noon. Mrs.. Thompson was the
former' Maude Eckenswiller and
Mrs. Gertrude Bushell is a sister of
the late Mr.' Thompson. •
Misses Jeannette Barr and,
Susan Wilson left Kitchener on.
Saturday for a winter holiday at
Miami, 'Florida ..and on Monday
they were taking a one week cruise ,

The ministers for the month of
January were, Rev: Donald Sin-
clair, Victory Baptist, Hanover;
Rev: JaMes Dookram, Lutheran
Chtirch; Walkerton Ministers,
communion Service; Salvation
Army, Capt. Crews, Hanover;
Father Walsh 'has mass in our
chapel every second Thursday' at
10.30 a.m.; Rev: .Donavan Browne -
of St. Thomas Anglican Church,
Walkerton comes the third Tuesday'
of • the Month, and has prayer
Service at 7.00 p.m.; and the fOurth
Tuesday morning at 10.30 a.m. for
communion service; The Gideons
came the first Thesday. of the
month, at 7 p.m. and had prayer
'service, then on the, second llst
'Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. • for
musical program and, prayer.
On Wednesday, Sanuary 7th we
had a monster bingo with a. very
large attendance. On Thursday,
January 8th we held aiquiz contest
and spelling match• With prizes for
everyone. Our residents do
extremely well, some even haying
residents with their singing.
January 16th we had a euchre ,in
our tuck shop area with 'high and
low prizes, also lucky chairprizes.
The Happy Heart& Club front'
Ripley came and had the monthly
birthday party. There were three
ladies and five men with birthdays
in January. Reg Moore -was M.C.
and everyone enjoyed the program
immensely. The residents with the
birthdays each received , a lovely
gift, and then cake and ice cream'
was served to everyone 'to round
out a most enjoyable afternoon.
Wednesday, January .21st we
had a movie in our auditorium
which •proved to be most interest-
ing, and was' enjoyed by all the
residents who attended.
The.Catholic Women's League Of
Walkerton came ' on. ThfirSday,
January 22nd and put on a. euchre
with high and low. prize's. At the
conclusion they served a delicious
'lunch. • .•
The i/ iadies' Auxiliary, Branch
102 of Walkerton put on a bingo in
the Tuck Shop area. They had
lovely prizes and served, cookies
and , juice after the bingo.
Sacred Heart Grade 8 pupils
from Mildmay came on Friday, ,
January , 30th at 1.30 • p.m. arid
presented the residents with a,
variety program. •
We regret the passing in January,
of three of 'our dear friends and
residents, 'Mrs.. Charlotte Martyn,
Mrs. AgneS Mooney and Mr. Sam
Courtney. To their families we
extend our prayers and deepest'
sympathy.

RALPH ADAMSON
Ralph. James Whitley Adamson,
a resident of Ashfield since
September"-,1971, passed away in
Goderich Hospital on Wednesday,
February, 1 lth in his 62nd year.
He . was born in Yorkton,
Saskatchewan on February! 14,
1914, a son of George and Matilda
Adamson.
On July 18, 1936 in Toronto he,
married 'Eva Anne Reid. '
Mr. Adanison is survived by his
wife, one son Ralph (Buck)
Adamson of R. R. 1 Palgrave, one.
daughter , Mrs. Barry (Diane)
Hackett of. R. R. 7 Lucknow; , five
grandchildren, Terry, . Chris and
Cyndi ,A'darnson, Bob and Barb
Hackett; two brothers _George and
Bev, both of Toronto and 'one sister
Mrs. L. R. (Lois) Campbell of R. R.
7 Lucknow. '
He was predeceased by his
parents, his father on January 22,
1950 and his mother on January 6,
1960. .
The funeral service was• held at
MacKenzie Memorial Chapel;
Lucknow on Saturday, February 14.
Rev. Doug Kaufman, minister at
LuckhoW United church conducted
the service.
A masonic service was held by
Old Light Lodge No. 184 at' the
funeral chapel on 'Friday evening.
Temporary entombment was at
SOuth Kinloss Mausoleum with
;final resting place Greenhill Cem-
etery. • . •
Pallbearers were Jack Nicholson
Of Toronto, Willard Davidson of
Toronto and Garnet Davidson of
London, cousins,of the deceased; a
grandson Terry Adamson of R. R. 1
Palgrave; Bill McLauchlin of Ak-
ron, Ohio and Milfred .lackett of
Ashfield.

Tuck Shop area on January 13th, at:
10.30 a.m. Our new executive is
president, Bill Ffields; 1st vice,
Peter Murray; secretary, Mrs.
Schilroth; lunch, committee, Mrs.
Farrell, Mrs. Lindsay, Margaret
Strong and- Betty Black. •
In the afternoon we had a bingo
with many of the residents winning
two, prizes. In the evening at 7.30
p.m. the Sing 'Along Grorip from
Chepstow came and delighted our
