Senior 'Councillor. Murvin Solo-
mon chaired the February meeting
of Lucknovv Village Council hi the
absence of Reeve George Joynt
who was vacationing in the south.

A report was received from the
Ministry of the Environment con-
cerning an October inspection of
the Lucknow Water System. The
water system received .a good
report with a recommendation that
chlorination for the system 'be
considered by council
A temporary certificate of ap-
proval was issued fore the continu-
ance of Operation Of the Lucknow.

It was announced to council by
letter that the, expansion 'of
Maitland Valley Conseryation
Authority had been approved by
..the required number of municipal-
ities, Murvin' Solomon was
appointed to 'attend the authority
annual meeting at Wroxeter on

submitted to council from the

questionnaire to be filled 'out by

Auburn Man
Died At Age 89
ROBERT CHA MNEY
Robert Chamney of Auburn died
on Febrnary 12th at Clinton' Public
Hospitafafter an .illness of about
two months. He was 89 years of
age.
Mr. Chamney was born. July
llth, 1886, in' West . Wawanosh
Township, the son of the late John
Chamney and Sarah Brooks. n He
was, a farmer in the' township until
moving to Auburn about fifteen
years ago. • . • •
On March• 28, 1910. in Brussels,
married ,Clara Jane Craig. She '
predeceased him on March 28th,
1969.
•• Mr.- Chatnney was a member of
Morning Star Lodge, No. 309, A.F.
and A.M.,,,Carlow and Knox United
Church, Aubyrn. A lodge service
was held at the -funeral home on
Friday.evening at 9-p.m.
Mr. Chamney is survived by sons
Elwyn of Wingham, Herman of
Windsor, Graham of R. R. 3
Goderich, Stuart of R. R.,2 Auburn,
Gordon (Bud) of R. R. 1 Auburn; a
daughter, ''Mrs. Ernest (Verna)
'Doerr Of . Niagara Falls; AvVenty-
grandchild-ren, thirty-seven
great grandchildren and two great
great grandchildren.
Besides his .• wife, he . was
predeceased by two sisters and 'one
brother.
Rev. Stanley C. McDonald'
conducted the funeral "service on
Saturday, February 14th at 1 p.m.
at —the Stiles Funeral • Home,
Goderich. Interment was in
Colborne Cemetery. ,
