The Ripley and District Horticul-
tural Society met at the home of
Mrs. Lloyd Worthington on Tues-
day afternoon, January 20 for their
annual meeting. There was a good
attendance. 'In the absence Of Mrs.
Glen Stanley, Mrs. Ewan MacLean
opened the meeting and conducted
the "business until ' Mrs. Stanley'
arrived.
Mrs. Wm. Mackay announced
the 50th anniversary would be in
1977. She installed the following
officers for 1976: president, Mrs.
Glen Stanley, 1st vice, Mrs. Ewan
MacLean, 2nd 'vice, Mrs. Frank
Fair, secretary, Mrs. Charles
Smith, treasurer, Mrs. Reg God-
frey; directors for 1976 - Mrs.

The ncleeting of the West .Huron ,
Junior Farmers was held Thursday,
February '5th , at .Brookside Public
School. The meeting was post-
poned from february 2nd because
of bad weather.. This meeting was
started with the Junior Farmer,
Song. Roll call 'was taken With the
Junior Farmer •'I-D cards being
handed out. • ,
Two members of the club were
elected, to 'the .codnty executive.
Mary Anne Alton• is the new county
treasurer and Dixie Cameron was
chosen as alternate 'County direct-
or.
Some of the members attended
the Zone Seven Junior Farmer
Winter Games at Wirigham.
Huron County came in 3rd overall.
The club chose two new club
directors at the last meeting. They
are Janet Farrish and Jim Pent-
land. -
BuSiness was taken care ctf.
- Recreation followed. 'Two exciting
. games of volleyball were played,
with the games being split, one
game apiece. Next meeting is
Monday, March 1st at Brookside
Public School at 8.00 p.m, ,

Lions Head Flower Festival fast
summer' and a pot luck luncheon

spent sin bulbs from •Rolland by
members as well as $48 to the
Legion', for tut') bulbS;
The receipts for 1975 were
$1,680.74 and expenses $1,110.30,

Mrs. Worthington,played one of
Art Perri's records "The Choice is
Mine" which 'was much enjoyed by
all. Mrs; Charles .Liddle . gave a
short talk on "Do's arid Don't's 'for
Hotise Plants".

everyone while Mrs. `Worthington
and , committee served a' delicious.

Wingliam Ironmen. The regular
season play has been completed
and playoff time is here,
Kevin.Murray finished 6th in the
scoring for the schedule with • 27
points. Ian Montgomery was
eighth with 22 , points and Greg
Hanfilton was ninth with 21 points,
Mark Chisholm registered 17
points.

Douglas Eadie. of. Holyrood .and
Art Stanley of Lucknow left last
Friday by car for Vancouver. From
there they will fly to:Hawaii and on
to Anstralia and New Zealand. '
