On Tuesday of this week,

Sr. of Ripley celebrated. her 84th
birthday. Her many friends extend
best wishes on this happy occasion.
Early last week Mr, and \Mrs.
John C. MacDonald returned home
to Ripley from a two week winter
vacation. Mary and Jack were in
that land of pineapples and
sunshine - Hawaii. Incidentally it
was snowing and storming when
they left Ripley on the week end of
January 10 and it is still .doing-just
that. ,
Each Saturday two or more cars.
filled with red capped 'and red
jacketed hunters come to the Ripley
area to hunt rabbits. On occasion
as they hunt over the land blocks
adjacent to the , village, the
booming of their shot guns is ,
heard in Ripley. It is just' too bad
that all those distructive cottontails
in the village are nocturnal in their
habits. "
