Manager Lloyd Crawford report-
ed in .the year at the' Co-op , and
outlined where the increases in
business had come from. Fertilizer
presented a.large increase and Mr.,
'Crawford exPlained the iniprove-
ments that have been made at the.
fertilizer plant to facilitce• produc-
tion, and loading... Sale of chemicals
increased about 30%.
Soine of the increase 'in sales was
attributed to inflation but the Co-op
record on growth farm outdid the
inflation trend increasing their net
'savings on $101,069 from $82,355

Everyone repeated the Brownie
prayer.
At Pow Wow, • Dianne Wilson
showed the Pack :the, carrot tops she
halo- grown. The Brownies then
. enjoyed eating' 'the cookies that
Vicky Hackett, 'Sharon Struthers,,
Lisa Nagel and Rosalea Cameron
had brought to the meeting as they
are all busy working on their Baker
Badge. They are also making cakes
for their families as this is all part
of the badge.
Duringwork period Packii
taught first aid to the Golden
Ladder Brownies. Tawny Owl had
the Golden Bar Brownie's for a test
,on Canada's flag, with Heather
Maelntyre, Mae Raynard, Donaldi
• Thompson, Jackie Rathwell and
Dianne Wilson passing this test.
Donalda Thompson sang 0 Canada
and Dianne Wilson and Jackie
Rathwell passed skipping back-
wards.

Dsed Suddenly
WILFRED DRENNAN •
• - • - Wilfred Livingstone Drennan, a
'Lueknow reSident,for a number of.
years, 'passed away suddenly
following a .stroke on' Friday,
January 23rd: He was in his 80th.
year. •
Mr. Drennan was delivering
baking about 2 p.m. to the Lucknow
United.Church for a banquet that
evening, when he ,suffered the
Severe stroke. Medical aid was
summoned and he was taken by
ambulance to Wingham and Dist:
'rict Hospital' but failed to rally.
A retired farmer, Wilfred was
born in Ashfield Township on ,
December 8, 1896, a son4 Jas
George Drennan and Lucia
Twantley. -On March 15, 1922 he
married Jannet Hackett.- They,
farmed in Ashfield Township until
retiring to Lucknow some , years
ago.
Besides his wife, Mr i Drennan is
survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Melvin R. (Lorraine) Stewart of
Guelph, one son James C. Drennan
of R. R. 1 Dungannon, five
grandchildren, one great grandson
and two sisters Mrs.. ,Wilfred
(Elizabeth) Plunkett of Auburn and
Mrs. Melvin (Violet) .Raynard of
Goderich.
Mr. Drennan was a member
Lucknow United Church, where he
served for several years oh the
session and later as, clerk of session
and alsO was a, Sunday School
superintendent • for a number of
years.
The funeral service was held at
MaKenzie Memorial , Chapel;
LtcknOw,on Monday, January 26:
Rev. Doug Kaufman was minister.
Pallbearers were Gordon Plunk-
ett, Eldon •Bradley, Bill Hunter,
Vernon Huffter, Ken' Laidlaw, Tom
Haekett.
Flower, bearers were two grand-
sOns Paul Wand Shawn Drennan.
Temporary entombment was at
Pungarinon Mausoleum, with final
resting place Pungannon Cemet-
ery. •

wife Eileen.
G. H. Ward and Partners',
auditors, were reappointed for
another year on motion of Murray,
Henderson and Allan Gibson.
Two resolinions were presented
to the Meeting.
Director Austin Martin present-
ed a resolution 'calling far the
changing of interest from 5% to
8% on existing and. future member
loans. .
Director Blake Alton, actin for
the board, presented a resolution
changing the per diem Paid
directors to $10 for a half day and
$25 for a full day from $6 for a half
day and $12 fora full day.
Both resolutions received "the
approval of the meeting.
The election of d'irector's 'to serve
for a three year term was.
conducted, by Bruce Chambers:
Retiring- directors were Blake
Alton, Charlie .Wilkins, and Albert.
Taylor. Blake and. Charlie were not
eligible for re-election having
completed the maximum number of
terms'.
Nominated for the three posi-
tions for a three year term were:

Walden by Allan Miller. Ken Alton
by Harvey. Ritchie. Jim MacKenzie

Withdrawing their nomination
were Glen, Walden and Jim
MacKenzie.
In the ballot 'which followed,
Albert Taylor, Dotii Martyn and
Doug Cameron were elected'.
Stuart Reavie, Bob Lyons and
Leo Murray acted as scrutineers.
Other directors with a further
term to serve are Jack Alton, Merle
Gunby, Bill Andrew, Terry Dalton,
HarVey Culbert and Austin Martin.
Speaking, briefly was Stuart
Lockhart, U.C.O. director and'
Terry Dalton who reported on the
U.C.O. annual meeting..
Manager Lloyd Crawford opened
the meeting for questions from the
,floOr. President 'Jack Alton
expressed the, thanks, of the
members to. manager Crawford.
Bill Wilkins, 19, Ashfield, receiv-
ed *a seal beam flash light for being
the youngest Co-op member pres-
ent at 'the meeting. •
William F. MacDonald, Lucknow
.87, received a bird feeder for being
the oldest present at the meeting.
Mrs. Jim Bradley of Amberley
won' the door prize, a radiO.
Harvey Culbert expressed
thanks 'of the' Co-op to retiring
directors Blake Alton and Charles
Wilkins. ,
•A dance followed to the music of
Moran's Orchestra.
