Ripley:took an early 2-0 lead in the first period, Lucknow then scored °three in a row ,to take the lead. Ripley replied twice in the third period, the winning goal, in ,.the laSt two minutes:. George' Alton scored all the Lucknow goals. Assists went to. David Emberlin and Jamie- Bere. On December. 29th,' the local boys trimmed Teeswater 6-1 in a game played in Lucknovv. Lancers Make Winning .Circle ..• Since last, writing the Lancers, the lOcal Intermediate hockey team,, have finally made the winning circle. December 19, Lucknow dropped a lopsided game to Port Elgin 6-1 with the lone goal going to Donald Mann.'. --Oh- December 21, the Lancetp made'a close game and led Clinton for two periods, only to lose 4-3. Jim Murray did the scoring with a hat trick. After/ a week's lay off over Christmas, the Lancers could only. muster one good period' of hockey against Harriston' on' Sunday, , Deceniber 28 which they led 2-1.' The last two periods was Harriston all the way. Lucknow was 'penalty plagued with' the game ending 9-3 for Harriston. Scoring went to Jim Murray, ' Jim Farrish and John Emberlin. It ,took the New Year to untrack , the. Lancers. After battling' the weather to Acton on Saturday, January 2 the game started late. Lucknowlitared, rough, tough and Steady. At the- end of '2 periods they trailed 4-3. Coach Fred, Edwards shuffled the lines for the balance sand the LanceO speedy forwards started .to get around Acton's slower defence: The last period went all to Lucknow with the cancers outscoring ,Acton Swords 4-0. Goalie O'Donahue played very steady making many big saves, in -the third period. The game ended . 7-4 for Lucknow with scoring going : to John Emberlin 2, Jim Murray, John MacKenzie, Graham Hamil- ton, Wally Houston and Steven, Hackett who joined the team 'for. his first game after moving back to town, Needless ,to, say, the whole team was very happy for a very rough bus trip home.. The stormy weather made it very late trip with 'a game scheduled for 'Sunday' night against Paisley.
