Legion auxiliary
lists delegates
The Legion Ladies' Auxiliary
met last Tuesday evening in the
Legion. Hall for the opening fall
meeting with president Mrs.
Gordon Munn chairing the meet-
log.
It was announced that a bowl-
ing team from the auxiliary had
been formed and will bowl in
the Women's Bowling League 'at
Zurich. Mrs. Don Havens, cap-
tain of the team discussed the.

Single, Mrs. William Sin ale,
Airs. Forrister, Mrs. Don Has'-
ens, Mrs, Harold Campbell with

the convention at Windsor from
Sept. 15 to 18, with all auxil-
iaries from Ontario represented.
Mrs. Bisback won the mystery
prize, and winners of bingo
were 'Mrs. Bisback. Mrs. A.
Clark, Mrs. G. Allan, Mrs. R.
Vanstone, Mrs. M. Taylor, Mrs.
J. Henderson (2), Mrs. Maude
Redden, Mrs. L. Noakes, Mrs. -
W, Smale. A pot luck lunch was
served.
WM5 begins new study
At the first fall meeting of the 1
Woman's Missionary Society of
Pensall United Church on Thurs-
day evening the new study "Into
All the World Together" was in-
troduced by Mrs. R. M, Peck
who also presided for the pro-,
gram.
Mrs. Albert Alexander review-
ed the two study books to be
used; "The Turning World" and{
"The Ship Under the Cross",i
Mrs. Sim Roobol and Mrs. W.
Dilling explained the. meaning{
of "ecumenical" by means of a I
dialogue.
Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. J.
Horton assisted in the devotion-
al period.
Mns. Beatrice Hess of Zurich
;Thitributed a piano selection
featuring a medley of hymns
with variations and Mrs. Hess
and Mrs. George Hess, Hensall,
sang two duets, with Mrs. Laird
Mickle as accompanist.
President Mrs. E. Rowe con-
ducted the business session when
it was announced the annual
thankoffering would be held in
October. Mrs. William Henry
tendered her resignation as
stewardship cpnvener owing to
illness in the home. Mrs. W. B.
Cross was named to complete
the year.
The meeting was preceded by
a pot luck supper. The tables
were decorated in pink and
white using candles and pink
glads. Large baskets of pink
a"d white glads were effectively
placed in the room. Mrs. R. J.
Patterson, Mrs. Peck and Mrs.
Alexander were the decorating
committee.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dowson,
Varna, newlyweds, were. honoredi
at a reception held for them at
Bayfield Pavilion and presented
with a well filled purse of. mo-
ney. Stew and his Collegians
furnished music for the dance.
Mrs. G. M. Chellew, who has
been spending the summer
months with her mother, Mrs.
Cornelius Cook, at her summer
cottage Del-Mar at Grand Bend,
returned to her home in Los
Angeles by plane on Saturday.

Attends national Kin convention
Bill Alickle, Governor of Kins-
men District 3,, left by jet, from
Mahon Thursday of last week to
attend the National Convention
of the Association of Kinsmen
clubs of Canada,
Bill flew by jet to Vancouver,
B.C., and from, there he flew
back to Kelowna, B.C., a dist-
ance of 350 miles. Convention
concluded on Monday. The re-
turn trip was made, by jet.

The Evening Auxiliary, meet-
ing in the United Church school-
room Monday evening, disclosed
that their quarterly allocation
had been. forwarded to the treas-
urer, and that they will cater
to a wedding banquet on Octo-

assisted by Mrs. Jack Corbett
and Mrs. Ed Corbett w a s
"Love". Mrs. Chapman gave a
paper on "Love in the great-
est thing in the world."

Kinettes make plans
The Hensall Kinettes met for
the first meeting of the fall sea-
son at the home of Mrs. Wil-
liam Clement on Tuesday eve-
ning,
Plans were discussed for fu-
ture activities. It was announced
that a gift had been sent to the
group's adopted child in Rely.

sor Wednesday, September 7.
Mrs. Little was a sister of Mrs.
James Smillie.
Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Wilson
and Ronnie returned -home Mon-
day from a two months' tour of
Europe. On their return home
they flew by jet from Northern
Ireland. to London, from London
to Prestwick, Scotland, across
the Atlantic and flew over the
top of Greenland and Labrador
to Toronto to escape Hurricane
Donna. During their itinerary
they travelled 15,000 miles.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl Schaeffer,
of Palmerston, were recent visi-
tors with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Chapman.
Miss Patsy Jones, who has
been on two weeks' vacation,
returned to her duties at the
local Bell Telephone office on
Monday.
Mrs. Edna Corbett spent the
past week visiting with her son-
in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Parker, Chisel-
hurst and was a weekend visi-
tor with another daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Ed. Schroeder and
family.
Miss Marion Bell, of London,
spent the weekend at the home
of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Glenn Bell.
