ON FERGUSON PROPOSALS
Veteran Conservative Declares Wear
Against Them
Ottawa. Nov. 14.-S1r George Foster
returned to Ottawa last night from
attending the League of Nations at
Geneva aa one of Canada's representa-
tives. and, the moment he was in-
formed of the Ferguson liquor pro-
posals he declared without an In-
stant's hesitation against them In no
uncertain manner. The former Min-
ister of Trade and Commerce in the
Conserve tire Government asserted
that to brine hack the liquor question
Into party politics would be a great
detriment to the cause of sobriety and
respect for the law. He announces
that his vete and influence wonid be
timed In opposing Government sale.
The Senator was asked If he cared
to say what attitude he would find it
Necessary to take with regard to the
liquor proposals of Premier Ferguson.
After some questions as to the actual
proposals Sir George dictated the fol-
lowing statement:
