Friday evening et the,' company's
annual Christmas party,. Music for
dancing' Was supplied by "Berry's
Own" Orchestra, including Jack
Henderson and • other talent from
the staff..

Christmas bonus cheques were the
final touches in a very pleasant

TREATS FOR SHUTINS
DELIVERED BY CKNX
The CKNX radio and TV station
has been a hive of industry the
past couple of weeks with all mem-
bers of the staff engaged in pack-
ing food parcels ,for the sick and
shut-in. The contents were donated
by various firms and merchants
throughout :this part of the ,coun-
try.
Oyer 700 baskets Were prepared
and Don Hildebrand and Mel
Keating spent three days ,last
webk delivering the parcels with
the 'station's mobile. unit. They
visited convalescent ' Homes and
hospitals from Exeter in the South
to. Wlartbn in"the north, and east
to Orangeville and west' to Kincar-
dine,

More than 100 children attended
the .annual Christmas party' held
last Wednesday evening, by mem-
bersOf the Wingham branch of
the Canadian egion and Ladles'
Auxiliary; in the town Ball,
,' The evening was filled with fun
and ftolic for the youngsters. and
Santa was on hand to distribute
gifts to every churl. Films and a
sing -song were also features of the
enjoyable evening,

Friday Mrs:- Rae leaves for Phoen-
iz, Arizona, 'to spend a few. months
with her son, Ron, Mrs, Rae and
family. From there she will' travel
to California and return home

The ,; Evening Auxiliary, of the
Wingham United .• Church held. its
Christlnas meeting at the home of
Mrs.' J. Reavie' on Tuesday even-
ing, 'December 17th. , •
The theme of the devotional per -

earth, Jesus Christ is Lord" was in
charge of Mrs, C. Lloyd, who was
assisted by Mrs, S. Beattie and
Miss . G. Harris,'Mrs. Ostrum sang
a solo. "Christ Has Come" from
Brahms Lullaby', which- was en-
joyed by all.
Mrs. ' Ross Vogan read the
Christmas story "The First Christ-,
mas Tree," by Henry Van Dyke.
The business part of the meet-
ing was conducted 'by the presi-
dent, Mrs. N, Keating, Mrs. Con -
ton and Mrs. McArthur were ap-
pointed' leaders

Band, Mrs. W. Cruikshank report-
ed that a bale had been sent to
Hazelton, British Columbia, the

ial hour was enjoyed.
Cal Burke Elected
President of Zone
Cal Burlte, of Wingham, was
elected president of the Walkerton
and district zone 11, of the Elec-
trical Contractors Association of
Ontario, at a meeting of the zone
held . in the Hartley. House, • Wal-
kerton, on Wednesday last,
This is the second time since 1950
that Mr. Burke had been elected
President.
