that the provincial reports of the

given to the' branch conveners.
The first 18 names on the roll
call were named a committee 'with
Mrs. George Michie as convener
to make the necessary .arrange,
ments for. the community night
on January 3, when a card party
and ,dance will :be held, Doorkeep-
ers will be Lyle Hopper and Jesse
Wheeler, Mrs. 'Kenneth Wheeler
and 'Mrs, Clifford Logan are te.
Purchase prizes costing five dol
tars and the ladies will take lunch.,
It was agreed that the W;I. para
chase hooks on a rack, to be placed
atthe back of the' Forester's Hall
for .men's coats, the Fortesters to
do the necessary work. Mrs; Steve-
art Procter was appointed to in-
terview the :caretaker about this
Matter.
Mrs. Richard Procter was ap-
pointed to put a sign, on the W.I,
cupboard in the Foresters Hall
stating that if any of their ..cups
were broken, they were to be re-
placed, and that all organizations
were welcome to use the W. 1
cups.
It was announced that the rug
making course will be held on Jan-
uary 14, Mrs. Walter Scott, Mrs.
George Michie • and Mrs. Richard
Prodter named :a committee to ar-
range for school fair prizes. Miss
Edith Procter and Mrs. Clifford
Logan expressed thanks for cards'
received,
.Mrs. C. R. Coultes and. Mrs. A. E.
Coultes were conveners of the pro-
gram, with the roll call being ans-
wered with a verse from a Christ-
mas card or other Christmas verse.
There was a nice display of
Christmas candy and cookies. The
at;,iress was given by Rev. C. Krug,
Mrs. Carl Procter conducted a con-
test and lunch was served by Mrs.
Kenneth Wheeler and Mrs, Fred
Cook.

School Concert
BELGRAVE—The pupils of S.S.,
No. 5 Morris held their' annual
Christmas concert 'on Thursday
evening, George Michie was chair
man for the following program.,;
A welcome chorus by all the
school and welcome recitation -by
Mary ( de Yong; several chorus
numbers by all the school and a
recitation by Katherine de Yong,
followed- by a dance by the Jun-
ior's.

ior's.:A• piano solo was given by
Dianne VanCrtmp. The senior chor-
us sang,` ''Bring a Torch", "Christ-
mas Bells" and "Sweet and Low".
Nancy. VanCamp gave a recitation
and a dance was performed by the
Junior's. There was a piano solo
by Hennie de Yong, vocal duet
by Ruth Michie and Marilyn
Campbell, singing, "0 Holy Night"
and "White Christmas", •
The Christmas story was told by
the Juniors. 4 recitation was given
by Frank Procter and a piano solo
by Ruth Michie.' A play was pre-
sented and the junior chorus sang,
"Hurrah for Good Old Santa
Claus" and "Away in a Manger".
The Alice Blue, Gown dance was
followed by a cornet solo by Joyce
Procter, a vocal solo by Via de
Yong, and the closing chorus num-
bers were "Nocturne", "The First
Noel" and "Silver Bells." All mus-
ical numbers were accompanied by
the teacher Mr. Neil Eadie. -
The chairman expressed a Word
of. thanks to the teachers and
pupils for the excellent concert.
Santa made his visit to give out
candy and . gifts.

OF COMPOSER'S LIFE
BELMORE-The Christmas
meeting of Belmore United Church
Woman's Missionary Society was
held on Tuesday afternoon, Decem-
ber 17th at the manse, Mrs. West
read a beautiful Christina' poem
and all jellied in 'singing the hymn
"9 Come,. All Ye Faithful". The
t h eme "Let the' song go round the
earth rfesus Christ 15 Lord" was
much enjoyed. Several carols were
then sung, and Mrs. NeWans read
the story of Charles Wesley's life'
who coiiiposed` more than 6,500
hymns and a1r joined singing
"Hark! the ;iEierald Angels Sing,"
Mrs. R, Ballagh gave a reading,
"Christmas Eve in ;Montreal" and
LaVonne Ballagh sang a Nolo, "The
Gentle Carpenter of Bethlehei t,"
Another hymn- was sting and Mrs.
.John Rutherford gave a reading;
the 'toll call, a 'Verse 'on a Christ-
rims card, Was well responded to
by the 18 ladles present. A nice
letter WAS read_ from Mrs. Wm,

Burial Saturday
BL1iEVALE—Jane Yeo, , widow'
of the late John Hall, died at Park-
hill on December 19th, in her 93rd
year. She was a native of Turn-
berry and lived 'nearly all her life
in Bluevale.
Surviving are a son, Gordon, 6f
Bluevale, and a daughter, Mrs,
James Master, of Parkhill; also.
twelve' grandchildren and twenty
great 'grandchildren. The. eldest
son, Williain, gave his life in the
first World War and another son,
Stanley, also predeceased her;
The funeral service was held On
Saturday at the Walker flineral
home; with Rev; R. A. Brook, of

Bluevale 'United Church, of Which;
deceased Was a member, officiating•
Interment was in• Wroxeter Cetne-
tery, Pallbearers Were, Jack Orvis,
