The "white gift" service will be
held at 7,30 in the evening, the
jUnior choir singing and, Sunday
School pupils taking part. Gifts
•are to be sent to the needy in var-
ious pieces. Mrs, Alex Corrigan
and Mrs, Carl Johnston will be in
charge of the musical program,

BLUEVALE-The Women's In-
sti*ute held its December meeting
at are home of Mrs. HarrS, Elliott
on December 12th. The president,
Miss Ruby Duff, presided,
The roll °call was answered by
donations of gifts to the Children's
Aid at Goderich and the Christmas
Cheer boxes. A donation of $10.00
was voted to the Save the Child-
ren Fund.
It 'was decided to hold a euchre
party in January, the committee
in charge to be Miss „Ruby •Duff,
Mrs. Raymoad Elliott and Mrs,
C. 13. Hoffman.
A committee was appointed to
plan any further improvement to
the community hall. Those named
were Mrs, W. J. Peacock, Mrs
Harry Elliott and Miss Ruby Duff.
Mrs. parling Johnston gave the
motto, "Strife and sorrow cannot
dwell where Christmas joy should
be", showing that kind deeds ra-
ther than indulgence bring the real
joy.
Miss Margaret Curtis spoke on
"What Christmas Means to Me",
referring to the greatest gift tp
mankind on the first Christmas.
In our giving we should remember
especially lonely ones and those in
need.
Mrs. -Carl Johnston led in the
singing of Christmas carols..'
Refreshments were served by the
hostess and Mrs. C. 13. Hoffman,
Mrs. Mel Craig and Mrs. Roy Tur-
vey and had a fine Christmas fla-
vor.

meeting. The Bible Christmas
story' WAS read responsively and
followed' by the minutes, read lay

surer's report,' read by Mrs, Durns
Moffatt. The allocation had been
!reached and 1957 provedF to be a
very successful year,
The secretaries of the various de-
partments gave their reportk all
very encouraging. The roll eras'
answered by a verse beginning
with the letter "n".
Mrs, Roy Turvey had charge of
the topic which she gave in poems,
"The Old Clay House" and "The
Old Cook Stove". She closed with,
a prayer in verse.

Mrs. H, A. Elliott presided for
the Ladies' Aid ,meeting and op-
ened with prayer. Mrs. Grant
read the Turnberry group report
and. Mrs. McMurray the ; Mortis
group report. The project, "Tra-
velling Apron"; for the Bluevale,
and Boundary group, was not corn;
pleted.
'The financial statement to date
showed balance of over $600.00, a
very sucessfyi effort. Mrs. R. 1
McMurray, Mrs. Gordon Greig, and
Mrs. Ross Gray.were appointed a
committee to plan covering or fin-
ish.for the basement floor.
Arrangements were made for
serving lunch at the Sunday School
entertainment on December 23rd.

Mission Band Sends

BLUEVALE-The Misstep Band
met in the United Church 'on Tues-
day afternoon with an attendance
of 27., Bill Hetherington presided
and gave a summary. of the last
chapter of the study book, Mary
Craig read the minutes.
Rose 'Marie Nicholson gave the
offertory' prayer. Birthday greet-
ings were sung for Anne Peacock.
Grace Mathers, Lloyd Peacock and
Gerald Brewer.
Anne Peacock, treasurer, report-
ed $80 sent to headquarters during
the year.
Mrs. W. J, Johnston had. charge
of the worship service which in-
cluded the singing of Christmas
carols. Miss Margaret Curtis il-
lustrated the Christmas story by
the use of a flannelgraph, while
Mrs, M, L. Aitken told the story.
Election of officers for 1968 re-

BLUEVALE-In the community
hall, gay with Yuletide decorations,
the teacher, Miss. Berva, Gallaher,
and pupils of Bluevale School, pre-
sented their annual Christmas con-
cert on December 10th. A. D.
Smith was the chairman.
Well sung choruses by seniors
and juniors echoed the Christmas
theme. The action song, "Susie
Snowflake" was a pleasing con-
tribution by the juniors, With Don-
na Mundell representing a snow-
flake.
The tiny tots gaVe their recite- *4
tions with spirit. Little Brenda
Grubbe gave an exhibition of danc-
ing. Older pupils played piano
numberS.
The , Rainbow by seven
girls, who, also sang, was colorful,
while the boys had a merry time
in their •Horse Drill, their make-
believe horses being very, realistic.
Dance of the Christmas Dolls
Was a pretty number and "Christ-
mas Symbols" gave the real mes-
- sage of Christrims,
There were two amusing plays,
"The Aver Family" Showed a
family of four taking a jaunt in an
Old car, Julia. Horton being the vol-
ttable back Seat driver and Jim
Sellers the exasperating husband,
”Wanted, a Housekeeper" till
Hall and Hugh Mundell posed AS
bachelors seeking household help
and were disappointed in the girls
who applied,

evening, by hearty applause,- and
also to Alek Corrigan, aceretary of
Turnberry Area School board, for
