in Training presented their annual
Vesper service on 'Sunday evening
in the United Church in a softly
lighted Christmas atmosphere.
Miss Faye Edgar presided at the
organ and the girls entered the
church in proCessional ,tnthe hymn
"0 'Come All Ye Faithful:',:
Miss Evelyn Anne, Stephens, as
leader, gave the call o worship and
led iriNprayer. The Christmas story
reported in the various gospels was
read by Misses Maureen Buchanan,
Ruth Grainger, Dawn Lop Clark,
An anthem "There's,A Song in the-
Air",was offered by the choir, The
offering was, received by four of
the members of the. Na-
dine Cook, Carol Keil, Elaine
Sanderson and Tina de , Kemp,
while Corinne Rhame played a
lovely ChristmaS, medley on her
violin as an offertory after the
dedication of the offering,
A meditation on the "Real Mean-
ing of Christmas" was read by
Mrs. Stephens, followed by a solo
by Miss Carol Robinson, "Start of
the East", A very impressive
"Pageant of the Candles" was
presented by six members of., the
C.G.I.T., Ruth Edgar, Joyce. Ford,,
Joanne Strong, Gwen Hyndman,
Helen Magee and Margaret Hastie.
Rev. Bflehanari .thanked the
leaders and girls for their very
inspiring service and prondunced
the benediction.'
Every year at Christmas, all
Canadian Girls in Training, their
parents arid friends have an oppor-
tunity to share in. the work of the
C.G.IT. Committee of the Depart-
ment of Christian Education of the
Canadian Cotthcil of Churches.
