GORRIE-Mrs. Andrew Douglis
passed away on Wednesday morn-
ing in the Listowel Memorial Hos-
pital, in her 78th year. She had
been a resident of the Wroxeter
district . before moving to her pre-
Sent home on Highway 87.
She was the former Fanny Sam -
per, a daughter of the late Rebt.
Sarhpel and Fanny Redick. She
was a member of the Gorrie United
Church.
Her husband, Andrew Douglas
survives with three daughters, Mrs,
Hardld •(Helen) Ridley, Wroxeter;
Mrs. J. (Jessie) Clark, Wingham
and Agnes, at home; three sons,
Robert of Tuvnberry, Stanley' of
Howick and Andrew of TeesWater;
also 15 grandchildren and three
great grandchildren.
Funeral service Was at the Moir
funeral home on Friday at 1:45
p,ni., with the Rev. W, J, V. Mich -
alum hi charge. Interment was in
the Wroxeter Cemetery.*

Calling for Tenders
For New Road
John Root, MPP, (Wellington-
Dufferin) has advised this news-
paper that the Department of
Highways has completed its sur-
vey and"planning and is calling
tenders for construction of the 1st
section of .the Shelburne -Mt, For-
est road. First call is for 7.26 miles
from Shelburne west,
Building of this road will not
only 'improve the road .system in
this part of Ontario but also will
benefit the taxpayers in all parts
of Wellington, Dufferin and Grey,
with the Ontario Department of
highways paying the entire cost of
constructing this county road.
County funds wi11 thus be,released
to improve roads in other parts of.
