Mrs. Milian Moore, when driving,
home alone last Wednesday even-
ing on the second concession of
Kinkiss, was surprised to se'e a
deer bound from the ditch ,to the
road in front of her car. The ani-
mal charged 'head-first into the
right fender. Damage' to the car
Was not extensive and the deer
disappeared.
Mr. and Mrs. Mason Robinson
and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bieman
accompanied Mr. and Mrs, Ross
Robinson, Belgrave, to Toronto on
Sunday, where they will attend the
annual meeting of the United Co-
operatives of Ontario in .the Royal
York Hotel on Monday and Tues-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Noble Young of
Goderich visited on Wednesday
with Mr. and Mrs. John McBur-
ney.
Mr. Austin Cook, of Toronto, is
visiting with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Cook.
Mr. and Mrs. Forest Payne, of
Detroit, came on Saturday to spend
the week-end with Mr. and Mrs.
William Kennedy of Marnoch. On
Saturday they Acornpanied Mrs.
Kennedy to Wingham. When the
ladies got out of the car at the
corner of Josephine and John
Streets Mrs. Payne slipped on an
icy spot and fell heavily, breaking
her leg near' the pelvis. She was
taken to hospital in Wingham but
on Sunday was taken home to De-
troit by ambulance.

sons, Clayton and Cameron Rob-
inson, and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin
Robinson and sons, visited on Sun-
day at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jos, Thompson of.„Goderich.

WHITECHURCH—Word was re.:
ceived in this community on Sat-
urday of the passing In Wingham
Hospital of Mrs. Peter Moffatt of
Kinlos, For many years Mr, and
Mrs. Moffatt and their' family
made their home on the third con-
eession of Kinlosa and their older
chilaren attended S.S, No. 10. They
later moved to the eighth conces-
sion. '
Formerly Kate McDonald, she
wai in her 76th year and her death
came as a shock to hdr friends and
family. They had one daughter,
Mrs. James (Jean) McPherson, of
Culross, and seven sons, Toni, Bert,
David :and Lloyd, all of Kinioss,
William and James at home and
George, who predeceased her about
three years ago. Three brothers
and three sisters also survive, as
Well as 31, grandchildren.
She was a Member Of the Lang.
