Rushed to Hospital

bell, youngest son of Mr, and Mrs.
Robert Campbell, Was rushed to.
Listowel Memorial #Hospital by
Dr, Porde on Saturday night; after
it was discovered that he had eaten•
a number of pills.
Man remained in the hospital
Saturday night but was released
and allowed to return home ,on
Sunday,

of the Women's Institute held the.
November meeting in the com-
munity hall last %week. This was in
the form of a family night supper,
With a good attendance. The men
,answered the roll earl with,
'+Where I Met My Wife" Some of
the answers were very interesting.,
Quite a number met at church or
at the public schopl.

made to San Francisco, • and on
through to Fresno, California, The
flowers and, cacti in bloom. were
wonderful and slides were enjoyed
by those in attendance.

The fall Thankoffering . of the
Explorers' Group of St, Andrew's
Presbyterian Church was held pa
Friday .evening, November 15, in
the Sunday School room. The
meeting opened with the group
repeating the motto and purpose.
John Campbell explained the em-
blem, "This Is .It y Father's World"
was sung, followed by the prayer
in unison.
The Scripture took the form of :a
Hebrew family at worship,, the
leading` parts being g. taken. by jean
Chittick Charles Congram and
Marilou Jamieson, The minutes of
the last meeting were read and:
adopted and the roll called. The
keeper of the treasury, Jim Eng-
lish, gave . his report. The offering
was received) followed by the of•
fertory prayer by Keith Scott.
Mary Phillips played several
hymns during and after the offer-
ing.
The following program was pre-
sented: Recitation by Helen Cur-
rie; chorus, "Just a Little Some-
thing for Jesus" by Joan Chittick,
Freda Lott, Jane Ann Colvin,
Barbara Cameron, Judith McKtb
bon and Mary Joan Lapp; .exer-
cise, "Thanksgiving", by twelve
children, the story being read by
Sandra Cummings; •chorus, sung
by the group; recitation; Janis
Henderson. A hymn. was sung
with Jane, • Ann Colvin as accom-
panist,
The guest speaker, introduced
by Chief Explorer Dick Scott, was
Miss Laura Collar, a missionary
on furlough from Africa Miss Col-
lar told a real life story of child-
ren in Africa and her talk was
greatly. enjoyed by all present. She
was thanked and presented with
a • small gift by •ft Helen Currie
Another hymn was sung and
Mrs. Nimmo closed the meeting
with prayer,. A social hour con-
cluded the evening,
