Sister Dies
In Toronto
The death occurred on Friday,
of Mrs. Meryl Bromley, wife of
Wallace Bromley, Toronto. Mrs.
Bromley died in the Toronto Gen-
eral Hospital after a short illness.
She was in her 38th year.
Mrs. Bromley was married in
Kincardine in 1946. She was the
daughter of Herbert ,Slade and
the late Mrs. Slade, of Kincardine,
and the sister of Lawrie Slade, of
Wingham. «
The funeral was held at '2 o'clock
on Monday afternoon ' from the
Linklater funeral home,.. Kincar-
dine, with interment in the Kin-
cardine Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Donald, Jack; Duncan and
Stewart Cameron, J. L. Lamont
and X. Brotchie,-.
Mrs. Bromley is survived by her
husband, 'her father and four
brothers. She had no children. .

Keen Interest at
First Aid Classes
Keen interest has been shown in
the Red 'Cress ]First` Aid classes
held in 'the Orange, Hall, Gorrie;
sponsored by the Gordo and Dis-
trict Red Cross Branch. Classes
have been held three times weekly
with an enrolment of 21 ladies.
The classes commenced October
28th and conclude Wednesday
night when those enrolled will try
examinations. Successful candi-
dates will receive 'pins and certifi-
cates from the department, Daring
the course ,nine classes have been
held under the direetion "of in-
structress, Mrs. Charles Sicheafer
of Gowanstown, Her assistant has
been Mrs, Alex Taylor, past presi-
dent of the 'Gorrie and•district Red
Cross Branch.
Canada Packers
Principal Buyers
At Christmas Fair
Again .this year Canada Packers
Ltd., were the chief purchasers' at
the Walkerton ChristmaS Fair, In
the cattle, the grand champion
shown by R, B. Campbell 'was
bought by Canada Packers at 75c
a lb., while of the 181 show cattle
displayed at the fair, the, large
packing firm purchased ,88 head.
In the sheep division Canada
Packers obtained the grand cham-
pion at 75c lb. Fifty-three of tthe
63 that had been shown were also
procured by the same company.
In the case of hogs -shown 'at the
Christmas Fair, all were purchased
by Canada Packers Ltd.
Accident Victims
Get Treatment
Samuel Waxman, of Brussels,
was admitted to the Wingham
General 'Hospital :last Thursday
after he had received injuries to
his back while working on his
trait. He Was discharged after he'
had been kept under observation,
at the hospital for a few days.
Ten-year-old Mari, Robertson,
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don-
ald Robertson, Bluevale, was al-
lowed to return to her home after
receiving treatment at the Wing-
ham General Hospital on Friday.
She injured his wrist which re-
quired a cast,
Thomas Mulhall, 'of RR, 2, Ar-
thur, suffered serious head injur-
ies last Friday when he was struck
by a steel bar while loading equip-
ment for a construction company
on the highway between Winghani
and Teeswater. Mr, Mulhall wan
transferred to Toronto Hospital for
further 'treatment after it had been
ascertained at the Wingham Hos
pital that he had sustained a lac-
erated scalp and a fractured skull
in' the accident.
William Gordon, of H.R. 2, Brus-
sels, was treated for injuries re-
ceived in a car occident on Sunday.
Although still in hospital suffering
from a' fractured right knee-can
and head wounds, offiCials at the
Wingham,General Hospital stated
yesterday that his condition is now
satisfaetory.
Mrs. Ena Currie, of Lucknow,
was admitted to the Wingham
General Hospital on Monday of
this week with injuries to her
shoulder and arm and several
minor bruises to her body, received
in a fall. Her condition yesterday
was said by hospital officials to
be fair.
Morris Stainton, 'of Wingham,
struck his hand and lacerated his
finger on Monday. His injuries re-
quired, several stitches which were
inserted at the Wingham General
Hospital, After treatment he was
allowed to return to his home.

He leaves to mourn his loss his
wife, the former Ruth Armstrong,
one son Brock, and two daughters
Ruth Ann and Heather, " all at
home. " One sister, Mrs. Carroll
(Vera) Gregg, Howick Township,
also survives. A son, Donald, 'pre-
deceased hi,m 16 years ago.
Funeral service was conducted
by. Rev, W.,J. V. Buchannan in the
Gorrie United Church on Monday.

Mr. Boyd was born on the Atli

number of years. He married ,Miss
Beryl Townend of Strathroy, who
survives with two daughters, Mari-
lyn Ann and Donna, at home. He
is also survived by two sisters and
one 'brother, Mrs. Thos. E. Man-,
ning,' London; Mrs, Hugh Gil-
kneur, Wingham and David J.
Boyd of South Porcupine,
The funeral will be held from
Denning funeral home,' Thursday,
