Dr. R. G. Bell, medical director of the Bell Clinic in Willowdale for alcohol and drug addicts, was quoted, recently in a Toronto paper. He declared that adult alcoholics in Ontario,. have increased at a rate of 91 per cent between 1946 and 1956, The statistical risk of becoming an alcoholieSs greater to- day, he Said, than the risk of contracting diseases like polio and cancer, Part of the rehabilitation involves comprehensive instruction on the effects of alcohol. As one part of his alcohol edu- cation program Dr. Bell is spen- goring a public course on alcohol and drug addiction, Twenty lee- tares are being given, free of charge, to physicians, 'nurses, social workers, clergy, high school teach- ers and others, The public will be charged $25.00 for the entire course. 21bA DEADSTOCK WANTED DEADSTOCK removed promptly for sanitary disposal.
