in -charge. After a few moments of
lively "discussion the negative side
won, showing, that home canning
of vegetables and meat is still the
beat.
The November meeting will, be
held in the community hall, when
family, night will be held and
supper will be served, convened
by Mrs. William Campbell and
Mrs. 'Russel Nichol. The meeting
closed with the National Anthem
and lunch was herved by Mrs, W.
McCann, Mrs. H. Pollock, 'Mrs. W.
Gibson and Mrs. R. Devitt.

Mission Band held its October
meeting in the ,basement of the
United Church with 48 present.
Birthday greetings were sung for
Shirley Eurig, Bobby Gibson,
Bobby Bride, Garfield Gibson add
Janie Hambly.'
The study book, was taken by
Mrs. Robert Gibson and worship'
service led by Mrs, Elmer Hard-
ing. The meeting closed with a
hymn, Jesus Loves Me.

ture lesson and Mrs. T. J. Todd and
Mrs, 'J, Cameron leaping in play-
er. The topic "Men in the News"
from the study boolR"This Is Ja-
pan" was taken in,dialogue form
by Mrs. W. A,, Miller and Mrs.
Frank 1Vicquillin. Miss. Rutherford
gave an interesting talk on the
history of Japan. -•
Thy treasurer reported that $110
had, been sent to the Presbyterial
treasurer. Invitations were receiv-
ed to autumn Thankofferings at
Blake and Zion.
Mrs. T. J. Todd was in the chair
for the WA., the theme of which
worship service was ,"Ye shall be
my witnesses—commitment for- ser-
mice". The meeting was opened
with the theme ,hymn,•theibe pray-
er and the repeating of the creed.
Mrs. D. Gibb read the Scripture
lesson and Mrs. L. Woods the les-
