ing of the Woman's Association of
the Fordwich United Church met
o,n Thursday in the church, The
theme of the meeting followed the
thought "Committment for Faith".
Mrs. Harold Pollock read the les-
ion and Mrs, Glenn Johnson sur-
veyed the'thoughts on it.
Minutes and correspondence,were
taken care of by the secretary.
An invitation was accepted from
the Mayne W.M.S. to attend their
Thanksgiving service on October
1.5th, when Rev," and Mrs. Marining
Will be guests.
Plans for a bazaar hi November
were completed, New floor cover-
ing for the parsonage was discuss-
' ed and a. committee chosen telook

,FORDWICH—The W.A. of Trin-;
ity Anglican Church met,,, at the
home. of Mrs. William Sothern
with the president, Mrs. Ruby
Foster, presiding. The Scripture
lesson was taken by Mrs. Stan
Forester, after which Mrs. Mar-
shall Armstrong led in the Litany.
:The second chapter of the 'study
book Was discussed by .Mrs. Cros-
by Sothern, She was assisted by
MrS, Lloyd Jacques, Mrs. Framer-
son Ferguson, Mrs, Robt. Allan and
Mrs. Bm,merson Hargrave, who
gave their parts in dialogue form.
Minutes of the SepterAer meet-
ing were read, by Mrs. Jim Strong.
Final plans were made for the
bazaar and tea to be held next
month in the ' community s. hall,
Committees were named to look
after this. Correspondence was
read, which included several invi-
tations,
Members deCided to join with
Mayne ,ladies on October 15 for
their Thankoffering service also
Wroxeter W.M,S, on October 17.
There are also, two deanery meet-
ings, 'Hensel', October 16 and
StratfOrd,. October 23rd. There
Will be slides shown in Gorrie on
October 28 by the W.A. there,

dent's badge. A gift was given to
Mrs, Mary Heifer, who is moving
to Goderich, Mystery prize was
won by Mrs, Margalet Horsburg,
donated by Mrs, Ross Doig. A
special prize was won by Mrs:
Mary McCann.
.Plans were completed for the
rummage sale and tea to .be 'held
this' month, A draw is to be made
on a braided mat. Committees were
chosen to look after the tea tables.
The meeting adjilurned in 'the
regular manner and lunch was
served by Mrs, Wm, McCann and
Mrs. James Vittie.

FORDWICH—The sixth officers*
conference for East- Huron District
of the Woolen's Institute w d ,as . held
Bluevale "community hall on Oc-
tober ' 7th. The eleven branches
were 'well represented and Mrs.
Glenn Johnston of Gerrie, district
president presided over the pro,
gram, .which included 'a report of
the Guelph area convention by Mrs.
Grayson Richmond, Monkton, a
talk on Girls' Club work and the
new fall project( "Working With
Wool", by Miss Shirley Patterson,
home 'eebnomist for Huron epunty.
Discussion groups for all officers
and conveners and the findings of
each group were discussed by 'all
members, A humorous reading was
given by Mrs, John Baylor of gar-
rie and Mrs, Don Robertson of
Bluevale favoured with two accord-
ion selections, Mrs. Carl Johnston,
Bluevale, led in community singing.
Mrs. D.; S. MacNaughton, of
Wingham was chosen delegate to
attend the national convention of
the Women's ,Institute, in Ottawa
on October 28 to 31, The Bluevale
Vcr, I, served lunch.

ly meeting,of the Belmore Women's'
Institute was held, in the club
rooms on Wednesday evening, 0e-
tober 9th. Mrs. Isabel Jeffrey and
Mrs.' Edna Baird were conveners
for the agriculture meeting and
the ladies of the Whitechurch In-
stitute were guests,
After the business session Mrs.
Johnston, Codn, of VVhitechurch
gave a plendid paper on the mot-

ture." Jimmie Ross of WhitechurCh
also favored the company 'with
several violin selections.
Roger 'Schwass, of CKNX, was
guest speaker, and entertained for
about an hour with beautiful col-
ored slides of his trip through
Western Canada, the Peace River
District and California.
The meeting closed after a
dainty lunch was served by ,the
hostesses.

on Friday for Ottawa where they
will spend a week, and also took
in the celebrations of the Queen's
Mr. Mervyn Wallace of Oshawa
spent several days at the home of
his mother. He will •be stationed
now at Guelph Junction.

his friend, Mr. David Steinacker.
