was hostess for the September
meeting of the Woman's Associa-
tion of the Gerrie United Church
Mr's. Gordon Edgar opened the
meeting with the call to worship.
Mrs. George Brown read the Scrip-
ture taken, from James 111-17 and
Mrs. Edgar offered prayer. Mrs,
Hector Hamilton read a poem "Old
Fashioned Rocker", Mrs. Brown
gave, a reading en "Family "Snags"
in every day life. I,
Mrs. ,Edgar,gave a talk on "Con-
tentment". She said•tbat trying to
improve our surioundings. withou•
impreving ourselves Makes us,

Mrs. T. 'L, McInnes, president,
conducted the business. It was de-
cided to have a painting bee in the
Sunday School rooms on. October
1st, Plans were also Made for a
turkey supper, in' November and
committees were named. The Meet-
ing closed with the singing of
"Come Thou Fount of Every lless-
ing", and the theme prayer in uni-
son. A delicious lunch was' served
by the hostess and Mrs, Galbraith,
Mrs. A. Taylor, Mrs, E. Carson and
Mrs. H, Hamilton.

iod, when it was decided to donate

had purchased the'used cups from
the United Church Woman's As-
sociation, and Mrs. IVielvile Taylor
and Mrs. M. Cotiltea were ap-
pointed to buy 100 mare new cups
and four pitchers and these are all
to be. placed in the Forester's Hall
or the use of the COnintunity.

of the' program, Which included an

and spiritual sido of Canadian ag-

tal, London. Condition of Mr. Tom
Vittie at the Wingham General
Hospital continues to be satisfac-
tory. For all of these we wish a
speedy return to health.

Scripture lesson by Mrs. Rosa
Robinson.

tions on Japan" and gave the in-

moved to Listowel.
After 'a short program, the chair-
man for the evening, Morley Mc-
Michael, called them to the front,
and they were presented with a
purse of money, and a remem-
brance from the Quilting 'Circle,
of which Mrs. Jacklin had been a
valued member. They thanked
their neighbours for their kindness
and for the gifts. Lunch was serv-
ed, and, all enjoyed a social time
together.
