Hotchkiss allowed only three hits, w`hile Brown gave up five. The Wingham pitcher Struck out four and Brown made it six of the same, As .a result of the tight pitching the game remained scoreless until the sixth inning, when Wingham went ahead 1-0. Ken Hodgkinson was hit by a pitched ball and ad- vanced to third on Lorne Gardner's double, Jim Bain scored Hodgkin- son on a ground out, In the top of the eighth frame Southampton tiedthe score when B, St, Pierre reached first on an error, and then advanced to third. J. Maas scored the runner on a ground out. In the last half of the same inning, the locals tilled to score three runs, Hodgkinson and: Gardner singled and Jim Bain hit intoa two bagger to score both of the runners. Wade, with Mrs. Clark Johnston in, charge in the absence of Mrs. Alex Nethery, the president. The Scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Clarence Wade, the min- utes were read by Mrs. Wm. Bry- dges and the ' treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Cooper Nethery. Articles were receivedfor the bale. It was' decided to decorate the 'church for the harvest home 'ser- vice which will be held on Sunday, September 29th. Plans were made for the October meeting, when the' guilds from Blyth, Auburn and Brussels will be, 'invited and the meeting will be held in the recreation room of the arena. Mrs. L.
