Band at their regular monthly
meeting on Wednesday last, at the
home of Mrs. Bari Caslick, Mrs.
Walter Elliott read the .Scripture
lesson; Mrs. Wallace Conn led in
prayer and Mrs. Frank Coulter
read the story on, "Birds", The
Mission Band children sang, "God
Is Our Loving Father", The clill-
dren showed the Christmas` cards
tbey had received from the For-
mosa children, signed with Chinese
names, Mrs; Dawson Craig closed.

Shower Held for
Bride=Elect
WHZTBCHURCH - The ladies
and children. of Fordyce school
section gathered ;on Monday even-
ing in the school, to honour Miss
Joyce Robinson, a Saturday bride.
Mrs. Harold Gaunt presided for
a short program of readings and
musical numbers, and Mrs, Wm.
Rintoul .read an address. Ann Rin-
toul, and Beverly .Gaunt assisted
with the many gifts for the miscel-
laneous shower. Miss ;Robinson
thanked the ladies in appreciation
of , .their kindness, and invited
them to her home :on Thursday.
The ladies then served a delicious
lunch.

the W.M.S. of Brick United Church
met with the ladies of the W.M.S.
of the United Church, here, on
Wednesday last. Mrs. Jas. Fal-
coner, president, presided and gave
the call to worship. Mrs: J. D.
Beecroft led in the Scripture read-
ing, and Mrs. J. G. Gillespie lett
in prayer. • Mrs. W. R. Farrier
played a piano solo; and MrS,: Fal-
coner called- on the guest speaker,
Miss Agatha Coutles, to address
the meeting.
Miss, Coultes, who has a wide ex-
perience, in nursing,. and as a
missionary on Vancouver Island,
among the Chinese, and • nursing
last year, at Drumheller, Alta., give
a very interesting talk on her
work, and on her six weeks' course,
taken recently .at Wolfeville, N.S.
at Acadia College, in pastoral visi-
tation. The • W.M.S.• has placed'
Miss Coultes over the work of
nine ltospitals,in Edmonton, where.
she and her 'workers will keep' in
1 contact with United Church pa-
tients. • She left this week, to take
up her work there.

Mrs. 'Falconer pronounced the
benediction, and • the ladies served
lunch in the S.S. room of the
church.

Edna Barr, of London. Miss Kath-
